remember as a teenager wanting to leave home and get "out of this place" you wanted it so bad and when the time finally came when you were gone on your own the only thing you really wanted to do was go home! awesome song, neddles has an amazing voice!

These lyrics mean so much to me. So many people think that to really experience life, you have to travel to exotic places or have an interesting career. These things are important and worthwhile, but so are the small things in life. These lyrics are saying that a person can get as much out of a simple trip across the street to see a friend as they could get traveling across the world. Wherever a person finds him or herself, true happiness comes from realizing life as you live it and understanding the power of each individual experience.

There is so much wisdom in these lyrics.

This awesome song can basically be explained in the saying, "You don't know what you've got till it's gone." It's about wanting more, and more, and then realizing how happy you were when you were home, with the friends and family and familiarity you love, and finding out that you can always go home to that. That, wherever the people who truly love and care about you are, you can always go home to them, and they will welcome you with open arms....
