Extraction, no one moves
Aggravation is the current mood
Closed accounts, prosecute
Dressed in these outdated suits
Transmission incorrect
Is there anyone that's competent?
Dismissal but I can't vacate
Forcing my seeds to germinate

Like history in the making
Can we please blur the edges
Of this past memory

This will make for a great story that we will never repeat
So nod your head and tap your feet
Because that's the only review I need

These capillaries ball into a fist
I tuck it safely away inside my pocket
How can I be more obvious
Blazers are worthless when you can't produce a hit

And I hope to be the biggest dissappointment

What I think is and I could horribly be wrong. Reading about all the drama between Ben and Fran. I'm thinking that this song is an expression of Fran's feelings.

Dismissal but I can't vacate Forcing my seeds to germinate

That means to me Ben isn't here now i'm picking up the slack (Fran)

Like history in the making Can we please blur the edges Of this past memory

Because apparently this may have not been the first time this happened.

Sad Ben left but he's right if you no longer have the passion for what you are doing then you can't stay and drag everyone else down. For the rest of the band I do have to say he could have made it a little easier.

I think this about how they regret what they've done in the past. With The Fiction We Live, they sold out and made an emblem out of the broken, the kinda broken, the I wish I was broken. It's evident on all of the comments on The After Dinner Payback. They're good at what they do though, and I love that album but i have to be honest about what it really is.

This kind of a reminder to never do that again. The last line says it all "I hope to be the biggest disappointment."

They matured alot in this album

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
