Not Afraid (Alternate) Lyrics
Driving down a one-way road
Some courage and the radio
We'll drive until our eyes can see.
Tonight we'll leave this world behind
No traffic lights and no stop signs
Tonight the road is all we need.
We're not afraid
We're not alone
We're just losers on this open road.
Can't go back, can't go home
'Till we find what we're living for.
Is there something good,
Something more,
Is there anything worth dying for?
Tonight, you're all that I need.
This highway's full of burned-out cars
Broken dreams and broken hearts
This highway is a wrecking ball.
Tonight's a long, long way from home
These headlights shine on broken bones
Tonight we need some new heroes.
Something good, something more
Something that's worth dying for
We wanted more
We wanted this
We wanted the simple things I guess.
It's like the stars are falling up
It's like the sky hits the ground
It's like the wind, tremendous calm
It's like an earthquake and it makes no symbol with air.
But we're almost there.
Some courage and the radio
We'll drive until our eyes can see.
Tonight we'll leave this world behind
No traffic lights and no stop signs
Tonight the road is all we need.
We're not alone
We're just losers on this open road.
Can't go back, can't go home
'Till we find what we're living for.
Is there something good,
Something more,
Is there anything worth dying for?
Tonight, you're all that I need.
Broken dreams and broken hearts
This highway is a wrecking ball.
Tonight's a long, long way from home
These headlights shine on broken bones
Tonight we need some new heroes.
Something that's worth dying for
We wanted more
We wanted this
We wanted the simple things I guess.
It's like the sky hits the ground
It's like the wind, tremendous calm
It's like an earthquake and it makes no symbol with air.
But we're almost there.

I got this song from someone who said it was from their new CD. ITunes says it's from the album "Standing in the Gap," though I haven't found anything about that either. At any rate, these are the lyrics as I heard them, and I'm not so sure about the second-last line.
Its just about life , and how its like a road trip just hurtling through places, picking people up and dropping people off.
It was Off of the 2nd disc on Healthy In Paranoid Times according to where i got it from.
this could be one of my new favs of olp! but whats this 2nd disc all about?
the last lines are:
"It's like an earthquake and it makes no sound But we're there And we're almost there..."
That's how I hear it anyway.
hmm well to me, the road they are driving down is just the symbol for life. It's like they took the road less travelles in order to find out what life REALLY TRULY is. they are trying to find out what they should value in life... and then he realizes "Tonight, you're all that I need." you either symbolizing...the road (aka life) or maybe a person?
I think it is "It makes no sound but we're there"
