Hold Yr Terror Close Lyrics
One, two, three, four
Here
The future is only so near
Why should we all be alone
Every night on the way home
This time
We should be starting again
Get up, I'm counting to ten
Seeing you comb all your hair
Pretending that no one is there
You know
It can be better than that
But wait until tomorrow morning
Learning to be you is what hurts most
Close your eyes and hold your terror close
Out here
I hear you come in loud and clear
I carried you till it got dark
And then walked you home through the park
You're right
Strangers are easy to like
Thunder and lightning will strike
Make the move, you'll get the knack
Echoes that don't answer back
Just please
Give me a chance to say no
But wait until tomorrow morning
Learning to be you is what hurts most
Close your eyes and hold your terror close
The future is only so near
Why should we all be alone
Every night on the way home
This time
We should be starting again
Get up, I'm counting to ten
Seeing you comb all your hair
Pretending that no one is there
You know
It can be better than that
But wait until tomorrow morning
Learning to be you is what hurts most
Close your eyes and hold your terror close
I hear you come in loud and clear
I carried you till it got dark
And then walked you home through the park
You're right
Strangers are easy to like
Thunder and lightning will strike
Make the move, you'll get the knack
Echoes that don't answer back
Just please
Give me a chance to say no
But wait until tomorrow morning
Learning to be you is what hurts most
Close your eyes and hold your terror close

It's funny how none of the Go! Team's songs mean anything, except this one, which seems to have so much meaning it could explode. Gorgeous song.
This song is so warm and comfortable and puts you at ease, and thats what its all about, just relaxing and trying to find ways to cope with bad things that may surround you.
i think it's
Learning to be you is what hurts most
I love Chi when she sings this song. And when she's not singing this song.
These are what I wish the lyrics were. The real ones are kind of lame.
Also yeah, Chi is pretty adorable.
I'm not sure what Langdon means... I'm listening to the song right now and those are the lyrics I hear...
Anyway, when I listen to this song I get the impression that Chi is conquering her fear of strangers by carpooling. I know, that's not what the song's about. Whatever. But listen to these parts:
"why should we all be alone every night on the way home"
"carried you 'till it got dark"
"you're right strangers are easy to like"
Also, something I noticed: What if this lyric "maybe if we look at the map everything done is a wrap"
is really
"Maybe if we look at the map Everything done is a rap"
Since all the other lyrics on the album are raps, and this is the only song that is actually sung.
"see if you come out ahead pretending we know what is there"
i think its about the darkness of being lonely.
and i actually think that line above is
"seeing you comb all your hair, pretending that no one is there"
in reference to someone being watched. and why would people have to only watch others?
"you know, it could be better than that"
these are the actual lyrics
here the future is only so near why should we all be alone everynight on the way home this time we should be starting again get up I'm counting to 10 seeing you combing your hair pretending that no one is there you know it can be better than that
but wait until tomorrow morning learning to be you is what hurts most close your eyes and hold your terror close

Langdon is absolutely right.
It's about a failing relation ship "We should be starting again" wanting to start over have things be like they used to.
"Learning to be you is what hurts most" says to me someone expecting you to be like them and you trying to be that. That's what hurts mos since you really only want to be yourself, but this person you love expects you to be like them. So you try to be what they want you to be but it invariably fails. It huts the most since you want them you love you for you.
Which brings us to "Strangers are easy to like". New relationships are easy with someone almost a stranger who can easily be the person you expect them to be, while getting to know someone can be disappointing. There are other things in there that bolster the argument but those are the key points i think.
