EZLN, are you fucking retarded? This song is about OTHER PEOPLE saying he's lost touch. How could you not get that. "Entertainment for our restless minds, constant stimulation for ever appetite. " MANIPULATION from their FANS to make the music THEY want to hear, because fuck what Tom wants to make, right? Yet AM still said "fuck everyone," and made this record how they fucking wanted. I have so much respect for them because of that.

Do you not understand what tounge-in-cheek means "Kelly". Have you heard the entire cd, it's full of refrences to the band selling out, but they twist it and make it into a joke. I understand what you're saying, and it's valid, but you have to look past it, why would he write a song like this unless there was some truth to it. What, Against me is making a joke video about selling out to make fun of their long-time fans for critisizing them about selling out, oh...funny. Oh, so their just a fucking joke band now, I don't know I still like Weird Al. I mean I understand and agree with the band growing and getting bigger, but I don't agree with the band giving up on it's ethics and it's true fans. They should be using their soapbox to send their anchro message, but itstead they are using it to make fun of their fans like me, who've been around since it was just Tom and Kevin on some buckets. I lost respect for the band, and it's silly that you uphold and cherish their respect for this move. Anyways, sorry for this rant. Oh and next time how about you think of something a little bit more grown up then calling me "fucking retarded"

I agree Against Me! sold out when they joined Fat Wreck Chords, but I think the band is most concerned with the politics. Ranting about the government to a sea of anarchists in a small club never really changed any minds. Beating a punching bag isn't fighting the power.

i agree with every one except when they say against me sold out... this song isnt really poking fun at them selves rather then realizing how the music industry works... theyre fan base has grown so large and through no fault of theyre own theyre getting more popular...if they could still play garage shows im sure they would but it would be unfair to theyre fans not to give them wat they want... and if they gave up on theyre fans try going to other concerts where the ticket price is jacked up and t shirts cost 5 times more more then the tickets...(last against me! show i saw tickets:$10 t-shirts:no more then 20) and the thing is i'd pay 100 dollars to see against me! if they put on the same show they put on that night(and for those of u wondering i saw this show AFTER the alleged "selling out" of against me" and it was still the best show i ever saw) so they HAVENT lost touch with theyre fan base... just lost touch with what every one thinks punk really is... so for all u that analyze music in the amounts of money or status like u analyze against me's authenticity based on theyre album sales or wat record label they belong to or who sponsored theyre show... here's some numbers for you... I find it funny how people complain about Tom selling out almost always started listening to them after they got at least a bit of fame, and my friend who has seen them live pre-AETC is actually thrilled they signed to Sire. AM! fans are a joke, they can't like music for music. "LOL Tom doesn't play in basements anymore! what a poseur, he still plays Reinventing Axl Rose. to EZLN and others: i agree, it sucks when a band sells out. I still like "clarity" even though its slow and betray's what the band stands for, but i also want another "re-inventing axl rose". well i know that im never gonna get it, but of course ya do miss the old stuff, whether it's against me!, rancid, anti-flag, hell even the clash (although they were on CBS from the beginning). few bands never sell out. minor threat, operation ivy. i look up to these bands for what they did (or didnt do), but i understand that not every band would rather break up than make a million dollars. i just hope against me! does something positive with the money they're gonna be making (like destroy the world haha)
