I like the way this song sounds, but I kinda disagree with the message. It's about being afraid to live life and aspiring to something higher; reaching your "full potential" basically. I just don't like how it's telling someone else that... like your life isn't good enough because you don't take enough risks or something. You know the best way to make someone feel life is worth-while? DON'T give instructions how to live it; just live and be happy instead of searching for happiness. It will come.
I think it's about a man and a woman who meet and feel like they've been shortchanged in life. She's letting him know that she understands how he feels.
It’s about a man and a woman but she is more of an allergy than anything....the key was off a bit since the problem wasn’t turning it but more finding it ...the poor guy was trying to impress a girl and he is handed like 100 keys ...and personally I think the key to the cart was not even there...explains why she and KH had to walk back and the cart just left there...now this is just speculation mind you...oh and Love did Bring his good luck back..

this song makes so much sense that it's insane
one of those songs that makes you realize what you've been feeling and trying ot make sense of, but couldn't quite get it out into words. serves as a reminder to step back and take a look at how we are actually living life. i love her voice
I always thought this song was really weird, cuz I thought when she said "downhearted" she said "damn horny"... Then the rolling thunder, lightning thing sounded like orgasm. It seemed REALLY out of place and really weird to me, but it all made sense when I read this...

It's funny how everyone kind of "hit" the ball all around the real meaning of this song. Considering that this was written and released around 2005, during the time Sheryl Crow and Lance Armstrong were breaking up, if you go back and really listen to the lyrics, you realize that this song for the most part was written to Lance in regards to their relationship....call it reflective if you will. And honestly, if I recall, in an interview with Sheryl back then, she as much as said the same. In fact, a lot of of that whole album was a retrospective of the time spent with Lance Armstrong. Makes the line "Good is good and bad is bad But you don't know which one you had...." make a lot more sense as well as the subsequent lines in that verse to follow. I love Sheryl Crow......she is among the super talented song writers that we are finding less and less in todays music. :)
