The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

wow... u just cant describe the amazingness of this song... I'v already said this on another song, but I was at the acoustic set for Coheed in Manchester last Thursday. Me and my mates got down there like 3 hours before it began and no one was there so we sat down talking about what they should play..I wanted them to play this song so badely. And they played like a foot away from us...and they played this. I filmed it but my hand was shaking coz it was just so un-fucking-believable. watching the emotion that Claudio uses in this song is so beautiful just...wow
