"Wake Up" as written by Travis Stever, Claudio Sanchez, Michael Todd and Joshua Eppard....
I'm going to ride this plane out of your life again..
I wish that I could stay, but you argue.
More than this, I wish you could've seen my face,
In back seats staring out the window..

"I'll do anything for you.."
"Kill anyone for you.."

So leave yourself intact because I will be coming back,
And in a phrase to cut these lips, I love you.

The morning will come with the press of every kiss
And your head upon my chest..
Where I will annoy you with every waking breath
Until you decide to wake up.

I've earned through hope and faith on the curves around your face
That I'm the one you'll hold forever..
If morning never comes for either one of us,
Then this I pray to you wherever.

I'll do anything for you, this story is for you...
(Anything you want me to for you)
I'll do anything for you, kill anyone for you...

[Chorus x2]
...'Til you decide to wake up...

General Comment"'I wrote that song in what felt like one minute” says Sanchez. "I had just gotten on a plane to go back to New York after spending time with my girlfriend in California. The band was getting ready to go out on the road again and I didn't know when I'd see her next. So I was sad, and this song came out. I sent it to her and it made her cry. As to where the influence for something like that comes from, it was really just a case of that being the song I needed to write in order to make it to the next day.”

Song MeaningFitting with the sporadic, dysfunctional organization of the album, even during his torment and plotting, Writer reflects on the love he had for Erica and all of the things he would’ve done for her. He dwells on the past, thinking of Erica fondly, despite his belief of her infidelity (it is unclear in the graphic novel whether or not Erica truly cheated on him). Writer has somewhat of a split personality now, half that feels guilt, loss and love, and half that feels anger, betrayal and revenge.
