Hey dainty girl flailing on the side of the road with your great thumb in the air
I hope you don't mind me asking but what happened to your underwear
And does your humble husband know of 'ee hitchin' seedy path with car operating sexual deviants
But julian would never understand
And doesn't he know?
Just because he's a painter and he loves you
It doesn't mean that he has got a clue

About
My thumbelina
I've never seen a pair of digits quite like yours, before
And I have traveled shore to shore
In such arduous pallor
Your almost perfect body's got me quivering in a ball

To that brass cowgirl with her hands petting your crotch
And humping you in towering grass
Naked and gender bending
What makes you think that the two of your will last
For there's no dame or man for her
There's just this open road where she hails down some pervert
With the usage of her giant thumb
But jelly bean you can never comprehend the intellect of her mind
And just because you can make her come with your hand it doesn't mean she'll be your woman.

My thumbelina
I've never seen a pair of digits quite like yours before
And I have traveled shore to shore
In such arduous pallor
Your almost perfect body's got me quivering in a ball

But 'twas a loon on the hillside
Planted a seed between your thighs
You fancy him as your therapist
But he's just a sadistic sodomist who gave you the bastard kid

My thumbelina
I've never seen a pair of digits quite like yours before
And I have traveled shore to shore
In such arduous pallor
Your almost perfect body's got me quivering in a ball

My thumbelina, My thumbelina, My thumbelina, My thumbelina Hey have you seen her?

    some corrections:

patting ---> petting thigh and thumb ---> giant thumb who to the end ---> but juliet cum ---> come (makes it a double meaning) torturous pallor ---> arduous pallor fairest ---> therapist plant out a seed ---> planted a seed bedazzling ---> no clue what that should be, tough one

I love the lyrics and the way Bredan sings this. I think it's roughly based on a book called 'Even Cow Girls Get The Blues' about a woman with massive thimbs that hitch hikes and gets badly treated by everyone she seems to come in contact with.

From the CD Jacket: Bedazzling-> "But 'twas a loon on the hillside"

    Count Girl-> Cowgirl

there's just this open road where she'll hail down some pervert->"There's just this open road where she hails down some pervert"

    "of 'ee hitchin' seedy path"

"but julian would never understand And doesn't he know? Just because he's a painter and he loves you It doesn't mean that he has got a clue."

naked and gender bending.. for there's no dame or man for her... But 'twas a loon on the hillside planted a seed between your thighs You fancy him as your therapist but he's just a sadistic sodomist who gave you the bastard kid

I'm new at this so here i go: I'm confused with the whole gender issue.first of all I know -thumbelina is a girl(someone can plant a seed in her) but, who is gender beanding? the whole enjambment in the lines makes it hard to understand to whom most of the pronouns belong. but if it is her gender bending it would make sense that.."there is no dame or man for her" cause she can switch.bi? maybe. and the man that gave her the child out of wedlock is turned on by causing pain(sadistic) and likes it in the behind(sodomist) but could she ever give it to him that way?

Light Up The Sky

The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
