"Why Am I Always Right" as written by and Brandon Reilly....
You were sickened at the vowing of silence
I was taken by a permanent high
Two lovers all you turned on how romantic
Never need a guillotine to get you off my mind
You were swept up in the buzz of a marriage
I was secretly hoping one of us might die
A close call would have ended up with the carriage
Lets call it extra lets call it why
You're just like your dad, surprise
You don't only share his eyes
It's the truth that's in your hand
It's a knack for telling awful lies
Why am I always right?
As you slept away the day in my bedroom
I found a criminal use for a pillow
I love you terribly I swear that this is true
But I just can't stop my hands from smothering you
I skipped town on a flight to your city
There I crept up to your lover's window
He poured a scotch and sobbed alone in the kitchen
I took that aim and then I let it blow
You're just like your dad, surprise
You don't only share his eyes
It's the truth that's in your hand
It's a knack for telling awful lies
You're just like your dad, surprise
You don't only share his eyes
It's the truth that's in your hand
It's a knack for telling awful lies
Why am I always right?
Stick a fork in a socket
Do what you like
Just make sure that I'm far out of your life
Take an axe to your fingers
Carve your eyes
Cut out your tongue and we'll call this a tie
Cut out your lying tongue and we'll call this a tie
You're just like your dad, surprise
You don't only share his eyes
You're just like your dad, surprise
You don't only share his eyes
It's the truth that's in your hand
It's a knack for telling awful lies
It's the truth that's in your hand
It's a knack for telling awful lies
It's the truth that's in your hand
It's a knack for telling awful lies
Why am I always right?

Highlight of the album for me.
not "truth".
which is a quote from the jawbreaker song sea foam green.
Alcoholism is a hereditary disorder that breeds a psychotic level of lying and behavior to support itself. The children of alcoholics, while oftentimes not visibly exhibiting symptoms, always have some sort of subtle symptoms stemming from their parent's addiction; a laundry-list of problems beneath the surface.
This song details the bizarre and misleading behavior of a brown-eyed girl who views herself as above and in control of the alcoholism that has crippled her father (making him a complete failure of a human being) and her utter irresponsibility with the relationships she somehow manages to trick unsuspecting males into beginning with her; how she may, in this way, subconsciously be getting back at her father for his mistreatment of her in the past.
Regardless. I never want to see her again.
it's a shitty feeling.
i love the part where its like,
"you're just like your dad... surprise"
almost mockingly
and "I was taken by a permenant high" is "I was taken by your permanent high"
