I'm unsure what it's about but I think the line is supposed to be "last years MOTTO, last years life".

im not entirely sure, but isnt this song about how they werent going to make another album and split for good, but ended up making this album and they are just appreciative that they got to make another album together? They broke up recently, to my dismay, they put some good music out there. They said that the album "Animal" was mainly for closure.
