"American Shoes" as written by Matt Charles Balfe, Damian Birchall B Costin, David Ghim Cheng Ong and Patrick Thomas Robertson....
Hey, my head spins at the thought
That I'm sleeping my way out of this rut.
Stealing so we could be together,
Losing so we would never part.

We wear
American shoes
So we can speak for anything, anything
We talk
But we're really confused
So we won't speak for anything, anything

Don't ask me how I know
It's a feeling you get when you're down low
She said your hands won't stick together
But your will stick like glue

We wear
American shoes
So we can speak for anything, anything
We talk
But we're really confused
So we won't speak for anything, anything

We wear
American shoes
So we can speak for anything, anything
We talk
But we're really confused
So we won't speak for anything
We'll just say
It's everything, its everything
It's everything, its everything, its everything.
Oh

General CommentWell... this is what i think the song means! To me i think american shoes refers to chucks (literal i know but wait...) and the stereotypes that come along with being in the alternative scene... people arn't going to take you seriously 'so we can't speak for anything' because they see you as a good for nothing unemployed punk. I really don't know how the verses fit into that, so i'll just ignore them =D

General CommentMaybe I don't know a lot about Motor Ace, but they are an Australian band - could this song be about Australian support for American foreign policy (imperialism). ??? Im grasping at straws, i know
