Sometimes i'm so... this time i'm sorry
It's the reason I fell strange
All of these lovers, making me nervous
Make like you don't mind
The reasons we don't connect sometimes
You're not alone in lies this time
So I won't be there
It's just that I fell spare
Distance can mean so many things
Silence... I'm sorry
It's the reason I fell strange
All of these lovers, making me nervous
Make like you don't mind
The reasons we don't connect sometimes
You're not alone in lies this time
So I won't be there
It's just that I fell spare

i did this for an english assignment on relationships. i said that it's about a relationship that is breaking down. the couple is drifting apart, but they are denying that fact, therefore drifting further apart.

agreed. anyone whos been in a relationship thats falling apart would appreciate the line 'All of these lovers, making me nervous' whenever they see a couple happy in love when they are with someone who they dont love anymore

This is a very beautiful song. I initially interpreted it as the ppl above, but now i think its saying 'We don't connect, its over... i'm sorry but there's someone esle 'When she walks in my spce, its the reason i feel strange'. 'You're not alone in lies this time' 'this time i'm sorry'. Subtle undertones but thats the conclusion i've come to.

everytime i listen to this song i seem to pick up on another line and realise a new meaning in it. i love it so much. it's such an amazing song. I think i agree with the the people above, particularly womack. especially about the "all of these lovers, making me nervous". i think this song while being about a relationship that's broken down, is also an apology. an apology that it's over and that he won't be there anymore. apologising for the fact that he's not going to be there at all in the future. "distance can mean so many things, silence... i'm sorry." and trying to make it easier by pretending that it's ok, and it doesn't hurt. "make like you don't mind" maybe?
