Missed Medicine Lyrics
I've figured out the key to short term success
Just tell everyone that you're clinically depressed
Make a list of all the people that you have wronged
Don't ever call them back but use them in a song
And if you're lucky enough to have a parent pass away
Pretend it broke your heart but never go to their grave
It goes one, two, three
Easy as one, two, three
It goes one, two, three
Let's all exploit our misery
(x2)
I've figured out a way to twist reality
Just take a ton of drugs and never go to sleep
Re-rent the saddest movie that you've ever seen
Fill your room with TV sets and put it on repeat
Push all your friends away with the cruel things that you said
if you need company you've got the voices in your head.
It goes one, two, three
Easy as one, two, three
It goes one, two, three
Let's all exploit our misery
(x2)
So stay down on yourself
And if you feel a glimspe of hope
You gotta choke it out before it grows
You're the only one that really counts
Stuff dollar bills inside your ears
And let the rest of them work it out
It goes one, two, three
Easy as one, two, three
It goes one, two, three
Let's all exploit our misery
(x2)

I think this song is kinda poking fun at "emo" musicians, or really people who capitolize off of their "pain". It kinda reminds me of Art Is Hard (?) off of Cursive's Ugly Organ CD, when Tim says
You Fall In Love To Fail To Boost Your CD sales.
Anyone else get that vibe? Its a bada$$ song regardless.
i agree with you. i seems to me this song is poking fun of the sterotype of emo songs. and pokes fun of them.
its funny how it does that.
I agree with the first comment, the first thing this made me think of was Cursive's 'Art Is Hard'.
i dont think it is making fun of "emo" music.....but just stating the facts....that people strive off of emotion and stating you can make money for it......
hahaha. that last comment for some reason made me think of Family guy. when Brian falls in love with that girl on the bachelorette show "I fell in love, i finally understand all those songs on the radio! sings some song"
I don't think this is "poking fun" at anything. I think it's describing personal experience and Marc Bianchi is almost putting himself down in this song.

I did this for a number of years and blocked myself in this safe, comfortable state of depression. I think that's what he's talking about. Being like that is "safe" and it also provides him with the misery to keep writing these things. In a sense it's also exploiting the same idea as "Art Is Hard", but they're not making fun of anything except the person who wrote them, in the first place.
