There's No Penguins In Alaska Lyrics
(Woo!)
She loves me, she loves me not.
My love was my decay.
She loves me, she loves me not.
He repeated to himself over and over.
These petals decide what's next for you and I...
Never resting time, leads summer on, leads summer on.
Never resting time, leads summer on, leads summer...on.
The worst was...the worst was this:
My love was (my decay) my love was...
My love was (my decay) my love was...
Finding oneself in such murderous shame,
Playing roulette with a flower,
Mislead devotion into seclusion.
Devotion...
Scream loud as you want to.
There's no way they can hear you.
Never resting time, leads summer on, leads summer on.
Never resting time, leads summer on, leads summer...
Never resting time, leads summer on, leads summer on.
Never resting time, leads summer on, leads summer...on.
I'll stop...
Stabbing...
When you stop...
Screaming...
She loves me, she loves me not.
My love was my decay.
She loves me, she loves me not.
He repeated to himself over and over.
These petals decide what's next for you and I...
Never resting time, leads summer on, leads summer...on.
My love was (my decay) my love was...
Playing roulette with a flower,
Mislead devotion into seclusion.
There's no way they can hear you.
Never resting time, leads summer on, leads summer...
Never resting time, leads summer on, leads summer on.
Never resting time, leads summer on, leads summer...on.
Stabbing...
When you stop...
Screaming...

it sounds like he either killed her or raped her
my love was my decay, -he had an obsessive love with this person.. which eventually lead him to doing something bad to her
Finding oneself in such murderous shame, -of what he did
Playing roulette with a flower, Mislead devotion into seclusion. -obsessive love caused him to do whatever which lead to his seclusion (either because shes dead or she left
I'm thinking Chiodos is the only hardcore screamo band i like. cause their lyrics actually mean something to me. i like it yup. they're pretty rad. end of story
The songs on all's well that ends well are influenced by shakespeare.
idk i think this one might be from romeo and Juleit and their "love".
Romeo becomes so obsessed with juleit that he sneaks into her garden at night just to see her. Romeo and juliet are "star-crossed" lovers, which means their love should not have happened. when juliet finds out who romeo is she says"my only love sprung from my only hate" Their families hate each other, and romeo killed julietes cousin, tybalt and gets kicked out of town. Juliet asks the apothecary to help her and he makes her a potion form flowers that will fake her death. Romeos servant tells romeo that juliet is dead because he dosen't know the plan so romeo goes to julets grave and kills himself with poison, juleit wakes up, finds romeo dead, and stabs herself with romeos knife.
"She loves me, She loves me not" Could be referring to a guy and a girl in a relationship, and the guy is unsure about whether or not the girl returns the feelings he has for her.
"My love was my decay." Basically, the love he feels, combined with the uncertainty is ripping him apart.
"He repeated to himself over and over. These petals decide what's next for you and I..." He is always trying to convince himself that she does return his feelings, and that he is just going to leave it up to fate whatever may happen.
"Never resting time, leads summer on, leads summer on. Never resting time, leads summer on, leads summer...on." Even in trying to convince himself, he still has doubts about her, and he thinks about it all the time, drawing out the days into unbearably long lengths of him and his thoughts.
"The worst was...the worst was this: My love was (my decay) my love was... My love was (my decay) my love was..." Eventually, he decides to break apart with her because he cant bear wondering about her anymore.
"Finding oneself in such murderous shame, Playing roulette with a flower, Mislead devotion into seclusion." At this point, the guy has fallen almost completely apart, after breaking it off with the girl, he now wonders what if she actually DID love him? Did he just end the relationship because of a stupid worry? And it ends up sending him into a seclusion, trying to hide away from the world, not wanting to show his pain, or at least putting up a facade to hide his pain.
"Devotion... Scream loud as you want to. There's no way they can hear you." This part makes me think he might be acting normal on the outside, but inside he is screaming at everything, wanting to know whether or not he made the right decision. But, even though he is screaming inside, no one knows, because he doesnt ever vocalize, or even say anything to anyone.
"Never resting time, leads summer on, leads summer on. Never resting time, leads summer on, leads summer... Never resting time, leads summer on, leads summer on. Never resting time, leads summer on, leads summer...on." Because he won't say anything, he leads himself back to where he was, only now he can't even ask her if she really loves him or not, because hes pushed everyone so far away.
"I'll stop... Stabbing... When you stop... Screaming... " This part seems like he is trying to hate her, so he can end the screaming inside himself.
But thats just what I think, don't assume I know what I'm talking about, thats just what I gather from the song.
"Playing roulette with a flower"
AMAZING!! Why has no one commented on a single Chiodos song yet? come on now, let's step it up. SONGMEANINGS IS FINALLY BACK!!!!
love it
yeah this song is quite awesome, i think the song is about false hope, you know believing in something that can make you think one thing but its only probability
its "such murderous shame playin roulette with a flower" because its silly. and "mislead devotion into seclusion" meaning its only bringing up his hopes which probably leads to "ill stop stabbing when you stop screaming"
i dont know thats my take on it
ps chiodos is fuggen radd. saw them in nov.
The meaning of this song is fairly obvious to me, but maybe there's a deeper meaning.
I think that this song is about loving someone and wanting them to love you, but hating them for the lack of emotion they send your way.
"Playing roulette with a flower"...how do they do it??
being lead on for so long and actually getting yourself to believe your going to get what you've been desiring all this time. then realizing HAH i've been fucked over and having to live with that shame and misery.
these lyrics are very smart, good job chiodos. i think DyingThruSunday is right. this is a good band, but they arent mainstream so they wont get many comments. good, i would rather them be kinda underground rather than played on every radio station is the country ie. simple plan (somebody screams and dies a few houses down the street...)
plus. the title of this song makes me laugh everytime. haha.
