Seagull Lyrics
I came across I came across a friend I didn't trust
I kissed his feet I kissed his feet and broke his knees
I came across I came across a friend I didn't trust
I looked into his eyes and I saw myself
I kissed his feet I kissed his feet and broke his knees
I came across I came across a friend I didn't trust
I looked into his eyes and I saw myself

betrayal? revenge?
To me this means not putting trust in yourself to live ones life. And realizing that noone else is to blame for how messed up your life is.
I think this song is trying to say that he met a person who he treated as a friend but he doesnt trust him. So he continued being his friends and doing stuff for him ("kissed his feet"), but when he got the chance he hurt his friend because he never trusted him in the first place ("broke his knees"). Then when he looked into his eyes expecting to see him wanting revenge or anger, he only saw himself and he realized that this person never deserved to be harmed, that he was a good person after all and that he ("I") had the wrong impression of this friend.
when he said that "i looked into his eyes and i saw myself"
i think it basically means that when he looked into a distrustful friend's eyes, he saw himself. as in after he gotten his revenge, he saw himself resembling the friend. (no being able to trust*
At the beginning, he doesn't trust his friend so he sabotages his friend in some way. Then, he realizes that he is just as bad as his friend was, and his friend had no reason to trust him.
Why do you think it's called seagull though? I met the band awhile back; I didn't think to ask.
