The water shines
A pebble skips across the face
A dozen times
Then disappears, not a trace
Left behind
The thrower turns and walks away
A change of mind
Another start, a brand new day

You know I'll change
If change is what you require
Your every wish
Your every dream, hope, desire

Here comes the mirror man
Says he's a people fan
Here comes the mirror man

And if it seems
I'm not the one you used to know
Our little friendship
Left behind not long ago
Don't feel too hurt
As distance heals the strongest pain
Things are much better now
And just the nagging doubt remains

You know I'll change
If change is what you require
Your every wish
Your every dream, hope, desire

Here comes the mirror man
Says he's a people fan
Here comes the mirror man
Here comes the mirror man
Says he's a people fan
Here comes the mirror man

Here comes the mirror man
Says he's a people fan
Here comes the mirror man

Here comes the mirror man
Says he's a people fan
Here comes the mirror man

This appears to be a song about alter egos, and the way someone's personality can change to fit the people they are with, especially if they are starting a new relationship. It sounds like it's describing how you may almost become a new person, or have this new alter-ego, depending on the relationship ("And if it seems I'm not the one you used to know Our little friendship left behind not long ago"), but he's not always sure if this is necessarily a good or bad thing, and perhaps thinks that he is a bit too receptive to other peoples ideals of what he should be ("You know I'll change If change is what you require"..). This is not entirely within his control however, because the mirror-man ego keeps drawing him into other peoples expectations ("..Here comes the mirror man..")

    Song Fact
Speculation about who was the titular 'Mirror Man' was ended in 1988 when, during interviews to promote the band's Greatest Hits album, Oakey revealed that it was about Adam Ant. Oakey had become concerned that Ant was starting to believe his own publicity, and was in danger of losing touch with reality. Oakey had avoided revealing this at the time for fear of offending the song's subject. - Wikipedia

I think it's about a guy who wants to fit in so bad, and be well liked, so he tries to please other people and pretends he likes people, just so he can be "in" - although he really can't stand those people and it's against his real personality.

It's about a person's disdain for being a people pleaser. They are realizing that they (or maybe the other person) is codependent and regretting how they (or the other) lose(s) their identity when they're together. They are ashamed of going along all this time without speaking up, and now they don't even know their own identify because they lost it in someone else.

I think it's about a man who wishes to win the love of someone by mirroring their every interest while fulfilling their every wish. There is also a be a retrospection involved, as I think the author has realized he will never win that love and has moved on, this telling his object that their friendship may had been fake.

    Song Meaning
Seems to be about a guy that is high on himself and expect others - his ex-lover in particular - to be more like him in order to improve. If this guy were really a fan of others then he would try more to accept them as they are, so thinking of himself as a people fan is probably supposed to be a touch of irony. In the opening stanza the relationship appears to already have come to an end so the lyric could be going back in time as in progresses, reminiscing about recent events in a disjointed sort of way.

Taylor Swift
This song is Swift's response to the negative reputation the media has given her. "I can make the bad guys good for a weekend" - the bad guys are the paparazzi to Swift, but are good to the "player" since association with Swift immediately gives publicity. Any publicity is good publicity and Swift knows this. "You can tell me when it's over" - the tabloids rumor relationships are over before the couple announces it officially. With this song Swift is portraying the way she is portrayed by the media. It is a sarcastic jab at how she views herself and how her "ex-lovers" only wanted to be with her to increase their fame. I applaud the brilliance in writing about how you always write about relationships. It is expected so Swift is giving the media what they want and profiting off the attention.

Morrissey
The man has pseudo-friends who constantly criticize his actions. They moralize him, "teach" him and advise him to make a significant change in his life, because the way he is and what he does is not what they say it should be. They may find his life lame or immoral. They hold themselves up as role models. The man replies that he will make his own choices and decisions and he does not agree to unconditionally make himself under the influence of questionable quality advice. He justifies this by saying that there is always someone for whom he will be important, no matter what he does and no matter what he is. Although it is not said directly, I read it as meaning that he will always be important to himself in every way and he will always have his own support. "Everyone is different and maybe that's a good thing, but you exceeded that mark 1000 times" - I remember very well how sad the words I once heard (from my peers and it was in negative context) at school made me feel.
