D.E.A.D.R.A.M.O.N.E.S. Lyrics
making come true our modest impossible dreams. stuck in public school classrooms at age 15. those long hot days just before the summer...knowing that we're stuck here...and there';s something happening somewhere knowing we know we gotta get there. it's true what they say...death is more perfect than life...that's why we already died. what could have been? we don't wanna know. tonight we'll get our kicks. tonight we're all letting go! 'cause we're all dead ramones! sore back! sore feet! a ragtag army and we're sick in the heat. we're not pretty and we're not rich, we're gonna hafta fucking work for it. it's our life! we do what we choose! black jeans. black shirt. black shoes. mom and dad still don't approve. twenty eight shows. 28 days, pulling up new rogues all along the way im just another face in the deperate youth parade. and all the bunk beds, locked doors, hardwood, sweat, guts, skateboards, cold war bomb shelter and whole lotta time stuck in the van. reading the graffiti on every bathroom wall in truck stop fast food hell. save me from ordinary. save me from myself. another punk rock summer came and went now i just wanna go back home and turn my stereo until the rhythm melts my bones 'cause im a dead ramone. d.e.a.d.r.a.m.o.n.e.s.

BEST SONG EVER.
This is about the band waiting for summer so they can go on tour. And then just like that, it's over
I really see this song as a call to arms for any fans of underground heavy music. Just a fleeing middle finger to all these fake ass bands and MTV poisoned minds. The lyrics should be much different in my opinion. this is actually the bands only good song (to me)
this is the olny song i like by them......but its actually one of my favorite songs........i think its about young kids who want to go to shows and stage dive and shit but cant cause of school/parents etc.
I think both ideas are right. The first half seems to be a rallying cry, and the last part is about touring.
But seriously, they have other good songs. "Witness" is one of my favorite hardcore albums ever. Pure brutality.
God fucking damn I can't wait to see this next month.
I started out like xSHARPx only like this and nothing else by MLIW but after seeing them live I can appreciate all their stuff.
This song is the anthem for the small town iowa punk and his/her "modest impossible dreams"...great line.
This song was the song that got me into MLIW, and this has to be one of my favorite songs by them. The song is basically about being a young kid in the hardcore/punk scene, with many examples being citing this such as being stuck in a classroom at age 15 and wearing different clothes their parents do not approve of.
It also kind of represents MLIW's story, coming out of Marshalltown, IA to conquer and become one of the best and most respected bands in hardcore.
