The Voracious March of Godliness Lyrics
Since the start of the 17th century
There's been the scent of unseasoned wood burning in the air
And the conquest of nature meant nothing at all
While we betray exception we take all that's there
But motives are translucent in the reflection of shame
The actions ghostly remnants of our ancestral ways
And unwittingly you just take your place in this parade
The voracious march of godliness makes us all the same anyway
All the same
Since the dawn of our human family
There's been concentrated sepsis blowing in the breeze
And we turned on each other with ferocity,
desperation, forced without reprieve
But the missions were misguided and the trammeled led astray
The air resounds with thunder as the victor seized the day
And the haunting voice of history lives ignored but not betrayed
The voracious march of godliness will get us close to heaven one day
Some day
The voracious march of godliness
The voracious march of godliness makes us all the same anyway
All the same
There's been the scent of unseasoned wood burning in the air
And the conquest of nature meant nothing at all
While we betray exception we take all that's there
But motives are translucent in the reflection of shame
The actions ghostly remnants of our ancestral ways
And unwittingly you just take your place in this parade
The voracious march of godliness makes us all the same anyway
All the same

And we turned on each other with ferocity,

But the missions were misguided and the trammeled led astray
The air resounds with thunder as the victor seized the day

The voracious march of godliness will get us close to heaven one day
Some day
The voracious march of godliness makes us all the same anyway
All the same

This song says to us that since the seventeenth century there has been an ever escalating standard for religion and the 'ideal' life. These paragons have followed blindly no matter how fucked up they really are. They've led us to destroy each other and everything that is good and pure on our mother earth to keep the fucked rights that have been given to us follow what we have been told because we're 'honouring god,' and 'going to heaven.' If only god stopped them fucking up the great earth we fucking live on. If only the 'voracious march to godliness' wasn't to do nothing, to destroy our world, keeping it in pain and agony, but to put all the shit in a bag and throw it the fuck away. " The Christian resolution of the world being ugly and bad, makes the world ugly and bad." Friedrich Nietschze. If people would not just blindly follow the bullshit ideals of America then the world would stop being destroyed. If everyone would stop pursueing the ideals of 'god' and religion to get to the above which they know not if it exists, then the world could start to become pure.
agnostic soldier couldntv said it better...unless he took out the billion F bombs that make it annoying as hell
The Voracious Reader
this song includes the origins of Religion..
that almost is like a vaccumme and is sucking everything up, until the apogee.. of modern times. since a few hundred years ago this climax is starting to get restless.. and maby its saying we will get the closest it can possiblely get to the visualized "heaven"
and how in modern times that feeling of "humanity" of us all being the same... seen through religion.. is manifesting and becoming more and more evident. good song non-the less, hard to understand unless you have a forming mind
Art? Naaaaahh Talentless hacks? Yeah. "Gods of the copybook headings" It ain't. I bet this crowed hasn't got a clue as to what that is. FOOLS!!!!
