Insomniatic Meat Lyrics

Oh my god.
I think I'm blind
I've found one color won't suffice
You promised,
sleep tonight

Call it a whisper that comes from
The distance
To protect all your children
One more, one more, one more minute
To fight off the bad guy...

Now go to sleep
Nightmares make these scars
A stomach's bloody hole
Sinking quicksand eyes
Makes for heavy sight

It's painless to float above the earth
Like this

Tie me to a chair, subconsciously
Surrendering
Now that I'm awake
It's hard for me to make believe

Blood between the sheets,
Insomniac meat oh - I can't shut my eyes
Void of nightmares, leading upstairs
Do I follow? - I can't shut my eyes

Tie me to a chair, subconsciously
Surrendering
Now that I'm awake
It's hard for me to make believe

This is the worst thing that you have ever done
This is the worst thing that you have ever done
This is the worst thing that you have ever done
This is the worst thing that you have ever done
This is the worst thing that you have ever done
This is the worst thing that you have ever done
This is the worst thing that you have ever done
This is the worst thing that you have ever done

This is one of the best songs from the new album! I think this song is about insomnia and that "disconnected" feeling you get with no sleep.

Maybe also, "subconsciously Surrendering Now that I'm awake", he's not sure any more if he's awake or not..

shrug awesome song!

The beginning where Nate sings "Oh my God I think I'm Blind" completely sets the tempo for the song, and this song does the same thing for the rest of the album. The themes of violence and a feeling that Nate is in a dream are throughout the cd.

Say Hello to Sunshine is extremely different from What it is to Burn, and from everything else coming out today. Finch's sound on WiitB was like a bridge between Deftones metal GlassJaw type hardcore, and pure pop punk. On SHtS, Finch sounds like an early 90's heavy metal band trying to be a 2005 hardcore band. I don't mean that to sound negative, this album is incredibly creative and experimental. With SHtS, Finch has taken a step towards becoming one of the great rock bands of this generation, but may be losing many of its punk fans in the process.

'Maturing'?.. Where are the catchy riffs, the quasi romantic lyrics? The RYTHM?. They're all gone. This whole CD is pointless, trying to sound hardcore bleh! As if they were never pop-punk. What? Oh yea about the song meaning, it's about a guy who murders in his sleep so he tries to stay awake..Oh how original!

Unrelased you clearly don't know anything about hardcore.

This album sounds nothing like anything hardocore. Finch are much more talented then then that! This album is very different from "WITB" But for the better i think. They songs have plenty of Rythem, You would have to be part stupid not to get into the feel of these songs.

And i thought the meaning to the lyrics were original!

Love to see you do better.

Well other then The Casket Of Roderic Usher :)

Great song.

Unreleased, here's the problem. "What It Is To Burn" was an awesomely good album in some ways eg. tons of catchy tunes, soaring choruses etc. But if Finch had released another, more similar album, then it would have been a very cynical, money-driven thing to do. By slating the band as acting "as if they were never pop-punk", you're suggesting that changing is a bad thing. When they do it like this, it ain't! If you like Finch, just listen to the new album more. It gets better every time. If you want to listen to the old album, it ain't goin' anywhere! Oh, and Insomniatic is right. "The Casket Of Roderic Usher" sucks a bit on CD. It's great live, though. I saw Finch on the first night of their UK tour supported by Million Dead. They closed with "What It Is To Burn". Now that is a show!

Oh, and I have NO clue what the song is about, but the best bit is in the first verse, the line Nightmares make these... scars, a stomach's bloody hooooooOOOOOOOLE!!!!!!!!!" That is the best damn scream in rock music. Ooooh...

This album is awesome, but What It Is To Burn was better. I don't think a whole lot of thought goes into Finch lyrics these days though.
