Nobody's Darlings Lyrics
Now shut up and play that guitar.
Just shut up and play that guitar.
We ain't nobody's darlings,
We never should've made it this far.
We ain't nobody's darlings,
So shut up and play that guitar.
I settle for watching her dance.
I'm happy just watching her dance.
We ain't nobody's darlings,
We never stood a chance.
We ain't nobody's darlings,
So I settle for watching her dance.
Now we got to the game
Just a little too late.
Spent our early days,
We spent our early days
Just fucking up.
We ain't nobody's darlings,
We ain't nobody's boys.
Just shut up and play that guitar.
We ain't nobody's darlings,
We never should've made it this far.
We ain't nobody's darlings,
So shut up and play that guitar.
I'm happy just watching her dance.
We ain't nobody's darlings,
We never stood a chance.
We ain't nobody's darlings,
So I settle for watching her dance.
Just a little too late.
Spent our early days,
We spent our early days
Just fucking up.
We ain't nobody's boys.

These lyrics are slightly incorrect I think, but nevertheless it's a great song with an emotional meaning that I love.
I think they're singing about how they never had any luck with women in their "early days" because of things getting fucked up, and that they've stayed like that for the rest of their lives with only their music to comfort them. "I settle for watching her dance" - they have no confidence, and feel like they dont stand a chance anymore.
I think most people have had feelings like this when they haven't been able to get a boy/girlfriend, and feel like they should just stick with what they know best and become more of an introvert. I know I've felt like this before, and so I feel like I can relate to this song in a way.
