it's so easy for some.. so difficult for others. and sometimes it's just the principle in the end. i think this is a song about not being seen for who you are, being with someone but not being taken seriously.. wanting more than they're willing to give.

Oh lol. This song reminds me of an old crush, and can still make me all sad. :x

anyways. I think this song's about someone who tries to forget someone s/he really loves ... or, someone that she doesn't want to love.

I also think that in the chorus,

"ten nine eight and I'm breaking away I'm all dressed up and I'm ready to play seven six five four and I'm all over you counting three two one and I'm having fun..."

she's trying to convince herself, but not entirely succeding. ;D

this song exemplifies my pseudo ex's and i's relationship. we were eachother fall back people, but it didn't start out like that.

he broke my heart, left me on the side of the road staring as he moved on, and that's the beginning: "i don't get you, i can't forget what you've forgotten"

the second time around, we kept our "relationship" a secret. because my parents didn't approve of him, but honestly. it was because he wanted to fuck around and not feel guilty. "your secret kiss of confidence was my escape the perfect game to play"

by the third time, we knew we weren't anything serious or never would be. just something to pass the time and make ourselves feel less lonely. "ten nine eight and i'm breaking away i'm all dressed up and i'm ready to play seven six five four and i'm all over you counting three two one and i'm having fun."

and lastly, when we "broke up" that third time because he couldn't even handle that small amount of commitment, he needed to mess around on me. "your facination with naked walls of silk and skin with no conditions"

this song is amazing. everything i have heard by them is amazing. they restored my faith in synth pop. :)

Great song from a great album. Lyrics are raw and have balance between expression and words chosen specifically for their sound. I've heard they are awesome live.

i love when she sings "i don't get you" . it sounds so heartfelt.
