Ah, my boyfriend was driving home one night and then called me to tell me that I should listen to this song. I pulled up YouTube immediately and gave it a good listening. When I saw him the next say, I asked him why he had wanted me to search up the song, and he explained that it reminded him of me and how he felt.

Reading all of these interpretations makes me kind of uneasy, but then again, he likely has his own opinion about the song. He's very needy and insecure in our relationship, but I love him no matter the weather. I suppose he fears I'll leave him after all we've been through together. And that's just my two cents.

Long story short version? We've gone through this love/hate cycle ever since breaking it off officially late October 2011 where it's like we couldn't stay friends for longer than 2 weeks at a time, and that's just the real short of it. I guess I gave him a hard time because I had the stronger feelings (I know I was wrong to do this but at the time I just couldn't stop myself)...Even tho that mental character doesn't seem to exist or show up anymore, he still seems afraid so he pushes me away as soon as we go past day 14. Soo I strongly suggested that we don't stay in contact at all anymore and just kill this shitful cycle we put each other through over and over again...I explained that it hurt me and his zero margin for any error on my part of our friendship just meant he expected the worst from me and hoped for me to fail him. It took a missed call from him to me for a fight to break and that was too much pressure for me...if it wasn't that it was just that I in-differenced the shit out of him!

So we shared hateful parting words and even that stuck for 2 weeks (as usual)....but we've been hanging out again lately and he's inviting me to his gigs (PDA was never his thing), staying at my home during the week on his days off from work...and after a 4 day sleep over he's sent me THIS SONG to listen too on his first night away from me too!...

I'm not one to ever go backwards so many time fkn times and I've expressed that I feel that we can't ever forget where we came from... He's THAT GUY in my life...The unattainable one that I continue to crush on no matter what! Yeah so I'm confused about the songs meaning....

Would you say that he was speaking to me OR is he trying to tell me that he thinks that I'm still the same peanut who is just addicted to him and the passion of the cycle? lol

Anyone? I tend to over-analyse everything and fuck being nice to me lol because I hate the naive side I tend to dream into.

P.S: Last year's song was 'I hate everything about you - by 3DG' ... I totally agreed it was a symbol of us

Good interpretations from most of you, I agree with them. I'd like to throw another possibility into the fray, though. When I was listening to this song today, I got the impression that it was a guy talking about how he's in love with a friend, but he's too scared to try for something more.

Never tease me and don't leave me here It's all the same in the end. Telling her not to tease him 'cuz it will never lead to anything.

The dying part seems to counteract my opinion, but in my current situation (my interpration is biased) it fits pretty well. My friend (my ex) is going through something rough. She still loves me, and it's obvious, but she'll never admit it because she likes to have me around, at the very least. And she's scared right now and I'm a big help to her. So, shrugs

For me it's about my girlfriend, I love her som uch that I just can't live without her anymore, she makes the sun come up in the morning for me... Never leave...

This song really is one of the best I've heard by Seether. I can agree with the other interpretations up there. As far as some saying its about love and others saying it's about addiction...what's so different from the two? Some love, even if others won't admit it, is more obsession than love. There's a fine line between the two, in my opinion. When you're addicted to a drug, it's very similar to feeling in love. Maybe this is nonsense to some of you...but it makes sense to me.

its my all time favorite song .. its so so amazing .. musically , lyrically .. its a combination of love n addiction i think .. like when you love someone(not sex n physical stuff . talking more about moral n inner things )you become so addicted to the person .. like u wana see hom n be with him at all costs . n i dont think its about drugs or something .. because i know well that when ur addicted to drugs u hate it .. but cant stop it :/

This is a very good song.

It's about him lying to his girl and her leaving him. He now realizes how much he really needed her. Now, he wants to take back what he said and have her come back.
