Makes me think of a drug runner or a life of crime. Hes got several wives and hes super cool and hes makin another delivery of chemicals and sacred roots. Im probably way off but I love the song.
Great grunge song written 10 years before the grunge movement took off. Neil Young is def the godfather of grunge.
Yeah, I think the song is about a drug runner. Love the imagery in the song- playing pool with a woman with vericose veins, losing blood at the dentist, the mad scientist in the lab making drugs. Great sleazy, grungy song. Like the Chrome Dreams version better than later versions of the song.
I would say that this song has something to do with Neil's love for cars. It says something like that in his biography, 'Shakey'. Great song though.

I’ll preface this with, IDK exactly how far back every one of the songs on RNS goes, I’m sure they weren’t ALL written at the same time.
That being said, on Rust Never Sleeps, Neil’s imagination was just, like, WOW!! You get the word-tumble of Thrasher describing a sort-of “mission” or an”trip”, but a metaphoric one; then you get the ACTUAL spaceship ???? trip of Ride My Llama; the (I can imagine, anyway) conversation on the spaceship, once the ‘alien’ brings “out something special for the trip”, eventually gets around to drawing a straight line from Pocahontas To Marlon Brando turning down his Oscar for The Godfather lol. Sedan delivery, near the end of the album, doesn’t provide any answers to the questions we, the listeners, must have by now. On the contrary, Sedan Delivery just DEEPENS the mystery lol!!
