I’ll preface this with, IDK exactly how far back every one of the songs on RNS goes, I’m sure they weren’t ALL written at the same time.
That being said, on Rust Never Sleeps, Neil’s imagination was just, like, WOW!! You get the word-tumble of Thrasher describing a sort-of “mission” or an”trip”, but a metaphoric one; then you get the ACTUAL spaceship ???? trip of Ride My Llama; the (I can imagine, anyway) conversation on the spaceship, once the ‘alien’ brings “out something special for the trip”, eventually gets around to drawing a straight line from Pocahontas To Marlon Brando turning down his Oscar for The Godfather lol. Sedan delivery, near the end of the album, doesn’t provide any answers to the questions we, the listeners, must have by now. On the contrary, Sedan Delivery just DEEPENS the mystery lol!!
