Planning A Prison Break Lyrics
Warden's calling for a lockdown, baby
He'll call on interim inequities
This is the last night in my body;
Assist in the escape
Warden's calling on a jailbreak, baby
He'll fly like only a jailbird could
He'll fly like only a jailbird could
Like a felon, he fell into scandals,
Scams, and master plans
To circumvent all circumstances
He thought to his throat,
"We can swallow this key and leave when we please"
Let's hope this stomach, stomach
Let's hope this stomach disagrees
Warden's calling for a lockdown, baby
He'll call on interim inequities
This is the last night in my body;
Assist in the escape
Warden's calling on a jailbreak, baby
He'll fly like only a jailbird could
He'll fly like only a jailbird could
"Make a clean getaway," he said,
With his hands outstretched
To nurse her neck
She lured him in with a masochistic kiss
And he wished he could be anywhere, be anywhere but here
Warden's calling for a lockdown, baby
He'll call on interim inequities
This is the last night in my body;
Assist in the escape
Warden's calling on a jailbreak, baby
He'll fly like only a jailbird could
He'll fly like only a jailbird could
Arm (he could be anywhere)
in arm we walk (but here, but here)
outside (he could be anywhere)
so that all we've done was not in vain. (but here, but here)
Warden's calling for a lockdown, baby
He'll call on interim inequities
This is the last night in my body;
So assist in the escape
Warden's calling on a jailbreak, baby
He'll fly like only a jailbird could
He'll fly like only a jailbird could
Warden's calling for a lockdown, baby (Somehow,)
He'll call on interim inequities (for now,)
This is the last night in my body; (this skin will have to do.)
So assist in the escape
Warden's calling on a jailbreak, baby (Somehow,)
He'll fly like only a jailbird could (for now,)
He'll fly like only a jailbird could (this skin will have to do.)
This is the last night in my body, yeah.
[repeat until end]
He'll call on interim inequities
This is the last night in my body;
Assist in the escape
Warden's calling on a jailbreak, baby
He'll fly like only a jailbird could
He'll fly like only a jailbird could
Scams, and master plans

So I was confused about this song until I read this: "If anything I would say I live by the standards I set for myself and strive to obtain them daily. This is where the lyric "This is the last night in my body." comes from. It was and is about being unsatisfied with how I am living and vowing to my self to never just settle or accept the way I am living."
That was in an interview and Brendan's answer to what was his life motto. So I guess this song is about getting out of old habits, and changing into who you want to be, I can't put it in any better words than what Brendan said himself.
favorest songy in the whole widey worldy.:) no but awesome song
that totally clarifies everything for me, thanks thexauthor
"This is the last night in my body" is a sweet line. And thanks thexauthor, because that makes sense and I never would have figured that out, haha.
I always felt like the line described feeling on the brink of some huge, permanent change; this is the last night of my life that I'll be a high school student, a teenager, a virgin, a smoker... a prisoner, heh. You get the idea. Maybe it wasn't the intent to give that feeling, but that's what I got from it.
It's about an alcoholic, check this out:
He thought to his throat, "we can swallow this key and leave when we please"
Lets hope his stomach disagrees
the prison break is quitting.
I think Jagfire is close. I wouldn't have thought of the alcohol aspect. My first thoughts were that it was a song about suicide - jail break >> last night in my body. In light of what Jagfire suggests: The prison is the body, in which the mind is master (warden).
Warden's calling for a lockdown: Separate yourself from the outside world
Call on interim inequities: Dwell on things that are not right in your life
Last night in my body; assist in the escape: Thinking of suicide, drink to numb yourself to the act
Then, of course, the alcohol.
The rest I'm not sure of. I think that walking outside, arm in arm so that all we've done is not in vain: means that you were not able to commit to the act - Somehow for now this skin will have to do. This is the last night in my body.
You're still contemplating the act.
this song is crazy.
I can see why you would think it's about alcohol, but I would rather go with what Brendan said. On top of that, it makes a lot more sense when you look at it through the album, like in the song "The Rival Cycle".

Its hard for me to understand the posting at the top and compare it to the metaphors in this song. Like where does the nurse come in and IDK these alcohol ones make more sense to me actually. Either way, this song is freaking sweet.
And I dont mean to be a myspace whore, But This band doesn't have a Myspace, And I was trying to find it to set my pro song as this, And it doens't exist.
