Son, I'm sorry for this world
and all the awful things she'll do to you.
If you only knew what you'd endure
before you were born
I haven't got a single doubt
You would have not come out
And I would have known it was for the better.

You'll be raped of any evidence
of ever owning any innocence.
This culture's a vulture
and your prime candidate for prey.
I've learned that I will lose all that I've ever loved one day
But I never thought
I'd ever have
to watch it all go, or wish it all away
---------------------------------------------

I know you''ll grow
but I wish I knew you'd stay small
If I said so
Please just don't grow
Please just don't grow
Stay small
Wont you stay small
----------------------------------

Daddy's little girl met the world
I watched the devil do his work
If only she knew just how sorry I was for her.
I found not a single prayer
could save my daughter from despair
As long as she stayed in love with this place.

It's because I truly love her
that I wish to take back the sperm
that brought her here in the first place (The first place.)
Little did I know when the egg met the semen
that my new baby girl
Like her dad would dance with demons

We watch the devil do his work in us.
I watch the devil do his work.

"The concept for the song is basically questioning the virtue of true love and whether or not that love would truly dictate bringing a child into such a world as this, or would it love them enough never to create them. This is another narrative portrayal of this family's life and a really personal song."

were these really the words? or could whoever posted them possibly just screwed them up?

i would still like it if these were the words, its not like TREOS makes it sound perverted, if they sang it in the same way and tone (which they would), then mostly just immature people would be too bothered by it =\

It's because I truly love her that I wish I could take back the words that brought her here in the first place. Had I only known that one act would be the reason that my new baby girl like her dad would dance with demons.

those are the updated lyrics from the demo. This song is amazing. I think it's what every person feels when they become a parent at some point.

I think what he's saying is that the world is full of evil, and he wouldn't want his daughter to eventually be stripped of innocence.

I prefer the sperm version of this song. It sounds a lot more blunt and honest. Words don't create people, eggs and semen do. Sperm is what they need to take back. I think it adds to the blunt dread and sickness that is expressed by the song. The world is not a happy place and is it really ok to subject the people who you love most in this world (your children) to these conditions?

this song is about being a parent (in this case a dad) and wanting the best for your kid even though thats not always what he or she gets. and how in this world bad things happen but you cant do anything about it, its just the way things work. it also talks about kind of regretting bring his son/daughter into this world when its such a sucky place to be i have only heard a clip of this song and it played live but i love it

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
