Now at Last Lyrics
Now at last I know
What a fool I've been
For have lost the last love
I should ever win
Now at last I see
How my heart was blind
To the joys before me
That I left behind
When the wind was fresh
On the hills
And the stars were new in the sky
And the lark was held in the still
Where was I
Where was I
When the spring is cold
Where do robins go
What makes winter lonely
Now at last I know
When the wind was fresh
On the hills
And the stars were new in the sky
And the lark was held in the still
Where was I
Where was I
When the spring is cold
Where do robins go
What makes winter lonely
Now at last I know
What a fool I've been
For have lost the last love
I should ever win
How my heart was blind
To the joys before me
That I left behind
On the hills
And the stars were new in the sky
And the lark was held in the still
Where was I
Where was I
Where do robins go
What makes winter lonely
Now at last I know
On the hills
And the stars were new in the sky
And the lark was held in the still
Where was I
Where was I
Where do robins go
What makes winter lonely
Now at last I know

Why does this song remind me of Christmas? Very cute.
this song breaks my heart. because unfortunately it is a feeling i have felt too comfortable in.
this is such a pretty song - i agree with the person that said it reminded them of christmas. i agree. i don't know why, though. either way it is very lovely and the lyrics kind of speak for themselves.
This reminds me of The Catcher In The Rye when holden asks where the ducks go in the winter.
beauty this song is.
and yes it reminds me of christmas too.
always when i hear this song, it makes me think about a really cold winter morning, when you start to think about your whole life. is really cold but there is no snow and no sun at all. this song really touches me, my favorite on the cd.
This song is absolutely beautiful. Makes me feel sad inside.. in a good way? hahaha.
Makes me think of just feeling left behind, missing out on all greatness of life, and of feeling low.
i totally get what you guys mean about christmas :) i can imagine someone waking up alone on christmas morning and looking at an empty christmas tree, the first christmas they've spent apart from their lover, and being like, wow. why did i give that up?
beautiful. i love it when she sings 'where was i. . ."
This seemed like Christmas morning - as with many others - perhaps because of the song's simple beauty. I thought the title "Now At Last" meant 'at last I've found love.'
But when I got curious enough to look up the lyrics I realized I was wrong.
The song might proceed in opposite: being bitter, then exploring enough to find that it was better to love instead, "but alas."
Beautiful!
my favorite feist song! :)
lovely.
I think it's her best song as well. She makes an old song her own.
