I never really thought about it but yeah, it sort of sounds like the song is about her divorce.

hmm when I heard it I guess it didn't hit me as a song about divorce, but rather a woman in a relationship where she didn't care about anything....thus being callous...but she knew she should care more, she just didn't care.
This is definitely about her divorce. Maybe not in the completely literal sense, but it was no doubt influenced by it.

So many people stay in love-less relationships for fear of "proving them all right", not wanting to be looked at as a failure, and/or fear of being alone.
