Fall Into Sleep Lyrics

dreams of earthquakes,
dreams of hurricanes,
dreams of pouring rain,
dreams of tidal waves,
(to wash us all away).

dreams of guns blazed,
dreams of fire rage,
dreams of swollen graves,
dreams of hollow pain-
...all gone.

(no more fallen,
no more enemy,
no more casualty,
no more dream)

fall into sleep,
fall into me,
i have a dream,
but nobody cares,
and nobody wants to listen.
fall into sleep,
fall into me,
hang onto a dream that nobody wants,
nobody cares anymore.

dreams of mourning grief,
dreams of disbelief,
dreams of tragedy,
dreams of our disease,
(to take us all away).

dreams of fidelity,
dreams of inner peace,
dreams of loyalty,
dreams of unity,
...all gone.

fall into sleep,
fall into me,
i have a dream,
but nobody cares,
nobody wants to listen.
fall into sleep,
fall into me,
hang onto a dream that nobody wants,
nobody cares anymore.

the angels are injured,
fall with broken, burning wings.
are we dead inside?
are we blind?
we can't keep moving forward,
backwards with closed eyes,
we're losing sight,
all lost inside.

no more fallen,
no more enemy.

fall into sleep,
fall into me,
i have a dream,
but nobody cares,
nobody wants to listen.
fall into sleep,
fall into me,
hang onto a dream that nobody wants,
nobody cares,
nobody wants,
nobody cares,
anymore.

all gone...

Its about knowing the truth of the world, watching all of the horrible things unfold before you, and wishing you could do something to change it. But everyones ignorant and submissive, they won't listen to your cause. They're completely oblivious to the fact that they've been thoroughly brainwashed.

I think that this song is about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's "I have a Dream". A dream where we can all live peacefully together. I think this song is trying to say that nobody listens to dreams of peace, but rather dreams of destruction, carnage, war, etc. ****" dreams of fidelity, dreams of inner peace, dreams of loyalty, dreams of unity-, all gone" I think he's trying to say that nobody cares about good anymore. This is easily evidenced by the media, who report almost entirely on tradegy and violence. I think he's trying to say that we need good dreams or there will be no dreams at all (we'll all destroy each other).

ok i agree with the mlk thing to a point that there still is that dreams of bad things and junk not explaind in that theory My opinion is somee one about to kill them self "fall into sleep" "no body cares no body wants to listen" and all the dreams they had good and bad all gone COMMENTS !!! please! OH AND I HATE BUSH TOO THROW MORE SHEWS AT HIM D<

@bush_h8er I feel uber confident MLK was not the inspiration of the song... but your interpretation is interesting.

I agree on the fact that this song references Martin Luther King Jr.'s infamous speech, however, this song also reflects Chad personal views on "cleansing the world of all life to start over". I think that Chad feels more like the present world is a hopeless dissaster. The exerpt that bush h8er used is a good example, but the second paragraph is a complete contradiction to this statement.:

"dreams of guns blazed, dreams of fire rage, dreams of swollen graves, dreams of hollow pain- ...all gone"

These are bad things that are also "all gone". I feel that this song is more about the fact that people have given up on dreaming all together. Chad feels that people need this in thier life, and I concur.

P.S. these lyrics need some tweeking.

Definatly seems about the apathy (and hatred?) of the world. Nobody gives a damn.

It does seem to refer to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. if you read it totally fits. Although from what i know about Mudvayne i dont really think that that would be the case cuz Chad Grey tends to write songs about how he feels about things and it also fits into just everyday bullshit of people constantly killing each other for stupid fucking reasons which im more inclined to believe that thats what hes talking about. Anyway its a fuckin awsome song and the chorus kind of reminds me of the song "a key to nothing". VERY MUDVAYNE

why do people always make references to past events? this songs just about how he feels no one gives a shit about his life and no1 wants to listen to the things he wants to let out

Hey I read and listened to interviews, I have a big MP3 that is an interview with Ryan. He just says that the album was mostly written by Chad and a lot of songs are about his personal life, I doubt its about what you are saying but who knows... AWESOME SONG

OK it just dawned on me. Bush h8er was right. Chad is talking about a world of peace and unity. The line:

dreams of earthquakes, dreams of hurricanes, dreams of pouring rain, dreams of tidal waves, (to wash us all away).

dreams of guns blazed, dreams of fire rage, dreams of swollen graves, dreams of hollow pain- ...all gone.

Is referring to the fact that his dream is about these types of thoughts being erased from scoiety hence the, "All gone". The part where he states:

dreams of fidelity, dreams of inner peace, dreams of loyalty, dreams of unity- ...all gone.

Is referring to the fact obviously that no one focuses on good anymore. At least that's my view on it.

OK I just thought of something else. oKySP could be right also. The two lines:

dreams of earthquakes, dreams of hurricanes, dreams of pouring rain, dreams of tidal waves, (to wash us all away).

and

dreams of morning grief, dreams of disbelief, dreams of tragedy, dreams of our defeat, (to take us all away).

are probobly referring to the belief of cleansing the world to start over. This is clearly indicated by the bad dreams of war and destruction whether by man vs. man or man vs. nature. Utimately both situations will result in all life being destroyed and people having to start over. That is his dream. It's indicated by the lines, "To wash us all away" and "To take us all away". But the linbe, "...all gone" directly after these verses means that nobody really cares what his dreams are and it will never happen.

well all i know is that it reminds me of the girl that i can't have anymore, unless she realizes i'm still waiting for her. But enough of my life. what i mean by that is where he says...

fall into me- i have a dream, but nobody cares, nobody wants to listen.

Fall into me is where she had strong feeling for me (she never said "i love you or anything of that sort, but i know she did). The dream is where she gets rid of her loser boyfriend and i take her (but thats only a dream). when nobody cares is where all the other people that have feelings torward me didn't have them like she did. if "nobody wants to listen", then i'll just have to wait for her to get rid of him, unless they have something special, or, i'll just have to wait until, i find someone else...until then, well, i dont know until then.
