Verse I:
Dressed head to toe
In fatigues of every shade
Like the bristles of a broken broom
Sent in to sweep up the mess we've made
Our helmets keep our skulls from cracking
But what about our minds
Rugs woven of the fabric of war
Let us tread upon the soiled surface of our times
But the time bomb keeps on ticking
chorus:
well every heart beats true
for the red black and blue
for the bleeding and bruised
and yes us this includes
but i won't hide behind the stripes of a blood-stained flag
Verse II:
The war has been waged
(A cultures been raped)
The cause has been justified
Standards democratically chosen
By which all of our worlds people should abide
And accounts grow
(With death tolls)
The business of war or the war of business
The lives and the soles of oh so many
Sold in someones personal interest
Bridge:
this carnage is a sickness
infecting the immunity of unity
how is violence the antidote
to save lives, to end woes
before fingers meet foreheads
before we salute, before we obey
it's our mission to shed light on who's manifested this war and for what gain
cause someplace somewhere there's a profit to be made
Dressed head to toe
In fatigues of every shade
Like the bristles of a broken broom
Sent in to sweep up the mess we've made
Our helmets keep our skulls from cracking
But what about our minds
Rugs woven of the fabric of war
Let us tread upon the soiled surface of our times
But the time bomb keeps on ticking
chorus:
well every heart beats true
for the red black and blue

and yes us this includes

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
