Overdrive Lyrics
this time I think I'm waking up
Give me loud to drown it out
before the world starts breaking up
You change and then you change again
Turning like a wheel inside your head
there's still two sides to everyone
You and I get on with life
and pray we'll find a better one
You change and then you change again
Turning like a wheel inside your head
Overdrive we're going life or death
Overdrive we're going life or death
Two strangers on the mend
this time there's nothing stopping us
Leave behind this vacant town
tonight and let it turn to rust
You change and then you change again
Turning like a wheel inside your head
Overdrive we're going life or death
Overdrive we're going life or death
Two strangers, no relation, on the mend
this time I think I'm waking up
Give me loud to drown it out
before the world starts breaking up
You change and then you change again
Turning like a wheel inside your head
Overdrive we're going life or death
Overdrive we're going life or death
Two strangers, no relation, on the mend

What is it about dude? It sounds like it's about one night stands or running away or something.

i think its about a relationship that never realy worked in the past but now theyre gonna try on last time and and put it in to "overdrive" and if it dosnt work they dont mind they know that it could end bad "were going life or death"

3 POSTS???!!! As far as FF songs go, this is right up there with Monkey Wrench and Everlong!
I've got no idea what it's about but the lyrics sound like some kind of conquest or something. Anyone know if it's in the set list for the In Your Honor tour?

No, it's not in the current setlist & it's only been played live 9 times. I doubt they'll ever play it live again.

yea this song should have been released and should be a times like thease song that everyone knows

Having given it some more thought, it could be about waking up Monday morning still hungover from the weekend, just like every other Monday morning before it and wanting to break the cycle.

Maybe it's just two guys at the bar, both slumped over a beer, pondering their troubles and then start talking to each other.
Not sure why, though. Guess that's just what I thought of about the line "two strangers, no relation, on the mend".

On the mend. . . . what is it with Dave and the phrase "On the mend?" The song On the Mend is one of my favorites. . . .it seems to strange to be a coincidence.

Great song.

I thought it was about having an addition, and trying to get better. There's the addiction side, and the sober side that are almost indeed of the other, but in one body.
