Ignorant Piece of Shit Lyrics
Looking right around you
And how will I know
when you'll decide to jump
Jump out of a window
falling faster
I can imagine
The ways that you'd roll your eyes
Before you hit the ground
Telling everyone you know
Maybe I'll be bad for you
Maybe you're too good for me
Everyone is getting screwed
Well if the shoe fits then put it on
Wear it like a crown
I cant believe you called
Just to say that you were coming down
I like the way you roll your eyes
Right before you fall down
I like the way you rolled your eyes
Right before you fall down
On bended knee
Will you marry me
And on November 16
Everything was buried down
And how will I know
when you'll decide to jump
Jump out of a window
falling faster
I can imagine
The ways that you'd roll your eyes
Before you hit the ground
Maybe I'll be bad for you
Maybe you're too good for me
Everyone is getting screwed
Well if the shoe fits then put it on
Wear it like a crown
I cant believe you called
Just to say that you were coming down
I like the way you roll your eyes
Right before you fall down
I like the way you rolled your eyes
Right before you fall down
Will you marry me
And on November 16
Everything was buried down

to me this song is clearly about suicide. i think the person mentioned in this song killed themselves, presumably on november 16th, hence the line "and on november 16th everything was buried down." the buried down part doesn't make a lot of sense unless you look at it this way: the person mentioned in this song was very special to the writer ("will you marry me?") and when they died, everything was gone, therefore on november 16th, everything was buried down with the person who died.
wow, I'm surprised to find Carissa's Wierd lyrics anywhere. but this is how the song really goes, I think. you have it almost all right.

This is a great song. I find it very surprising that theres only one comment for this song. Its nice to know that this site has Carissa's Wierd lyrics, its impossible to find their lyrics. Anyhoo, back to the point, anyone happen to know what this song means?
@VertigoInABox I remember hearing this was written about a man the songwriter knew who proposed to his girlfriend and when she said no, he killed himself. The song is a different approach to suicide because the writer thinks he was an ignorant piece of shit for hurting everyone who loved him, and even suggests the act of killing himself was to deliberately hurt the woman who rejected him ("the ways you'd roll your eyes before you hit the ground").

This has been one of my favorite songs for at least the last 3 years, probably longer. I always thought it was about someone overdosing. The last four lines are probably where you would find the most meaning. Every song on this album is about leaving. One way or another, dying, moving, breaking up, ect... I think maybe the person he is talking about has some issues. Jumping out of a window can either mean escaping, or commiting suicide (aka ignorant piece of shit). It's pretty hard to decipher this song though... I'm probably way off base.
i dunno i always thought it was about being with someone really unstable. but loving them anyway. plus some imagery and anyway i just really love this song.
oh and i'm pretty sure the last line is
everything was burned down.
oh and november 16th is also mentioned in the song "a new holiday (november 16th)"
I think the live version of this song (which is on y outube) is far better than the one on the album. Great song nonetheless.

The song is NOT about suicide. It is about Mat and I's engagement on November 16th, and how I bailed to save myself from the downward spiral that is Meth Addiction, before the actual marriage.

Wait! You're the Heather Rhodes? The Heather Rhodes that broke Mat's heart and inspired so much beautiful music?

I agree. That version is what I play on repeat as of late.

Someone has sort of mentioned it before, but it seems like it's about someone that the writer cared about, but that person was selfish and ignorant, thought they were alone and killed themselves. A few years ago a friend's brother killed himself when he and his girlfriend broke up, and the situation pretty much played out like this song. It's a blunt look at suicide, because a lot of the time it is a selfish crime that results in the emotional scarring of everyone who knew the deceased, and I applaud the band for it.
Nice, but maybe he's just an ignorant piece of shit.

i love the cowbells at the beginning of the studio version and how the drums kick in when Jenn sings. Mat sings the whole song on the live version and the instruments sound more alive. One of my fav CW songs.
