Beverly Hills Lyrics
im a huge weezer fan and i don't know what people would like about this song. its definitely the weakest song i've heard by them. what was rivers thinking when he wrote this? it reminds me of good charolette's "lifestyles of the rich and famous". i am so disappointed by this...
It's just very boring.
Weezer's problem is that they can't live up to the precedent they set for themselves. I'm hoping the rest of the album is an upgrade from this single.
Beverly Hills is a song about not forgetting where you come from. Even though Rivers is famous now (living in Beverly Hills), he knows he wasn't always rich. This song is saying Rivers knows who's a real friend and who's a "preppy girl" that never looked at him because his "pockets were empty". Get it? When he says he doesn't belong in Beverly Hills (no class, beat-down fool), he's being sarcastic. Insulting himself when he's actually insulting the self-absorbed people in BH. To conclude: the opposite of a sellout song, a song about staying real no matter how much fame you have.
this song is great.
i think it's about not fitting in and feeling out of place. thats probably how rivers always feels.
Oh for God's sake people, it's NOT that bad, and definitely NOT the worst. Ever hear Love Explosion? No wonder Rivers called his fans 'little bitches.' A lot of them are! I actually like this song... it has grown on me. And I've been a weezer fan since 1994, and the song is decent, though definitely not Blue or Pinkerton quality. It's just the commercially acceptable single that Geffen made them put on the cd. The rest of the cd is supposed to be different, and I'm hoping it's really good. This song is just very tongue-in-cheek.
@WeezerChic That's funny, "love Explosion" is one of my favorite songs off A4. Definitely agree this song is tongue-in-cheek , really takes the mickey :)

Everyone takes Weezer so seriously. Weezer is just roller rink music, they always have been and they will be, but it's still fun to listen too.
This song is about moving to beverly hills, and becoming a star.
if the rest of A5 is this good, Make Believe will be amazing
Rivers has some pretty weak rhymes.
Great single for their first release from their next album. Sure its very pop music but it is very catchy and I bet you are gonna see a lot of people jump on the weezer bandwagon. I look forward to this album and catching them on tour in may.
