Spiders Lyrics

We couldn't bear to stand
How the people leave us waiting
For something up there

Oh, why did you leave?
Why won't you come?
And save us again?

Come back to us spiders
Come uncrushed my hand
Let me sent beauty rain
And bring us love again, like you can

We just didn't know
Some one there outside of heaven
Heard us down here

We couldn't stand it here
Other people leave us longing
For something up there

Oh, why did you leave?
Why won't you come?
And save us again?

Come back to us spiders
Come uncross my hand
Let me sent beauty rain
And bring us love again, like you can
[2x]

So much time, we need to ask everything
How did it go, you need it I got it

Come back to us spiders
Come uncross my hand
Let me sent beauty rain
And bring us love again, like you can
[2x]

I believe that the Chorus may be wrong, as this song is a partial tribute to david bowie then i would suggest that the lyrics are:

"Come bact to us spiders Come on crush my hands Let piece and beauty rain And bring us love again, like you can"

These seem to be derived from the song Ziggy Stardust by bowie whic goes:

"So where were the spiders While the flies tried to break our balls just a beer light to guide us So we bitched about his fans and should we crush his sweet hands"

This is a theory but the evidence is there

That makes sense... I immagine Moby's a pretty big Bowie fan, since i'm pretty sure that he covered a Bowie song at one of his concerts.

It illudes me which, but I'm pretty sure. Besides, that theory makes more sense then anything else I can think of.

I think the correct lyrics are here - http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/moby/spiders.html

Also, I'm fairly certain this is a spiritual song. We are "us spiders" and he is asking for God to come back and "let peace and beauty reign/like you can" .

I do like the thought of us being spiders... not too cozy, and seemingly worthless. It fits as a metaphor.

Just my two cents though.

Sorry, mr_e_87, but this song is, indeed, about Bowie's glam rock persona Ziggy Stardust, but I can understand your conclusion, especially if you're not so well versed in one of the greatest musicians on all time. :-P I believe that Moby made it sound like a religious song because the character of Ziggy was supposed to be an alien, a creature from the heavens, come to warn us of impending doom ("Five Years" on the ZS album). Ziggy later became a rock n' roll messiah (summed up in "Moonage Daydream"), gettting sucked up into sex, drugs, etc. Through an act of some sort of self-sacrifice, he saves us from our doom. Not only that, but maybe it's a call for Bowie to return to his earlier glam rock sound (which I'd have to agree with; later albums like Earthling aren't too good at all). The title refers to Ziggy's band, the Spiders from Mars.

And yes, the lyrics are DREADFULLY wrong. The most important change is in the chorus: "Come UNCRUSH my hands," in reference to "Ziggy Stardust."

Did you know Moby lives across the street from Bowie? Thats pretty far out man.
