To me it means he really wanted the relationship to be something different than the other ones in the past, he just can't connect with her, I think his problem is his words, he just can't convey what he feels, and open himself up and just be himself with her. And since he does really care and like her, he's willing to be anything she wants him to be.

ahh, I'm just trying to make it something it's not aren't I? I see a little similarity to my own life and try to make the song match it...? Maybe.

When I heard this song the first time I just fell in love w/ Acceptance, great band might I add.

This song to me means this guy wanted to be in a relationship w/ this girl who could change him for the better but still he is scared to take the plunge for fear he might change himself for the worst.

I can relate this song so much because I had that type of experience with my best friend.

for me, i think this song is about when you're desperate for something different to what you've known in the past. something better. and you meet someone, and you want them to be the change that you've been waiting for "wanted to be anything different, everything you would change in me..." but for one reason or another, you can't get things off the ground, and so you're left right back where you began; just wishing that things would change and that something will happen. moreso that someone will make things change. I don't know if that makes any sense at all to anyone else, but that's what it means to me.

You can say its like this, you like this guy/girl and he/she likes you but theres something they dont like about you and its stopping them from taking it further and you would change for them.
