Damaged Lyrics

When I come home
I know it's you that I'll find
Pacing the floors once again
I know that I'm bored
I'm staying in bed too long
Counting the holes in the door

Damaged is the way I feel
My life is running away

Alone I'm a mess
I don't care how long it's been
I know I'm just wasting away
The clothes on the floor
Just like the mountains outside
The prison I live every day

I want to know if this is real
All of these things that I feel
I want to know if this is real
All of these things that I feel

When I come home
I know it's you that I'll find
Pacing the floors once again

Just like most of Goldfinger songs, he is hurt over a breakup.

I think the person he is referring to when he gets home is himself. He gets home and he is sad and feels hurt (damaged). You know when you're depressed and you don't want to leave you house or clean it up or anything.

Ahhh it doesn't even need to make sense it sounds cool!

It makes me think about my sister, someone who doesn't really live life to the full and just hangs around the house waiting for their time to pass.

Well like most songs by them are about, it probably began with a break up. Though everyonce in a while the girl comes back and she checks up on him, 'when i come home, i know it's you that ill find'. Though she wouldnt have him back especially since his life is falling apart in his 'prison'. When she comes back all his feelings come back and it only damages him more by filling him with false ideas 'i want to know if this is real, all of these things that I feel'. By the end he doesn't know what to believe and his life is gone as he's been too damaged by her to move on.

When the music backs out and Feldman sings, 'my life is running away', shivers down my spine.
