Ulcer Breakout Lyrics
Ever fall in love with a line?
Ever fall in love with a line?
Ever felt a gun for the trigger?
Ever go so fast, you could die?
Got to be at least 500 inches!
Cubic inches, on a certified quarter mile run!
Ever had the feeling of pleasure?
Ever felt your arse get shoved
so far into the trunk,
you needed help up from above?
Got to be at least 500 inches!
Cubic inches, on a certified quarter mile run!
Ever fall in love with a Chevy?
Ever fall in love with a Ford?
Ever felt the torque of a Hemi?
Ever seen the face of the Lord?
Got to be at least 500 inches!
Cubic inches, on a certified quarter mile run!
Ever fall in love with a line?
Ever fall in love with a line?
Ever felt a gun for the trigger?

Yeah - these lyrics are all messed up. It should be:

I never understood the chorus
I'm pretty sure every instance of "above" in the posted lyrics should be "in love." Sure, Butthole Surfers songs don't usually make much sense, but it doesn't sound like he says "above" at all. Plus, "in love" makes a LOT more sense.
My favorite part is the Chevy/Ford/Hemi/Lord verse. It flows so well and I don't even like pickup trucks.
It's definitely "fall in love", not "fall above".
Also, I've always thought the opening line was "Ever fall in love with A LIE", not with "the law". At least "lie" rhymes with "die" at the end of line 4.
Holy crap! CliffLandin, I'd never bothered to check for more "sensible" lyrics to this song since it didn't seem like the lyrics would make any sense even if I had the right words, but those lyrics make PERFECT sense. The song almost loses a bit of its intensity when you realize it's really just a simple song about racing. A classic truck, a big-ass engine, the starting/finishing line, the starter pistol... everything fits.
Cars, cars, CARS. Of the fast variety, with a massive displacement. This is about drag racing, and teetering on the edge of control over something so powerful that a belief in full control would be insane.
