Caterwaul Lyrics
Neer knew I could feel this way
So old and unremembered
Never thought it would slip away
And fall like September
Scale these walls in front of me
Have you ever stopped to wonder
Why they forced my voice
To turn from silence to a caterwaul?
I heard your caterwaul...
Eyes at night never see the day
Because it's not in my nature
Golden wings rise from the plane
They burn above the red earth
Scale these walls in front of me
Have you ever stopped to wonder
Why they forced your voice to turn
From silence to a caterwaul?
And what has tried to bound me
I've severed every tie
Place your arms around me
And we'll leave the rest behind
What was I to say?
How was I to know?
Was it your soft voice that said so?
So old and unremembered
Never thought it would slip away
And fall like September
Scale these walls in front of me
Have you ever stopped to wonder
Why they forced my voice
To turn from silence to a caterwaul?
I heard your caterwaul...
Because it's not in my nature
Golden wings rise from the plane
They burn above the red earth
Scale these walls in front of me
Have you ever stopped to wonder
Why they forced your voice to turn
From silence to a caterwaul?
I've severed every tie
Place your arms around me
And we'll leave the rest behind
How was I to know?
Was it your soft voice that said so?

great one. but i think these lyrics are a little bit mispelled at the beginning.
this song fucking rocks, but what the hell is a caterwaul (english is not my mother-tounge, i can't know everything)
@proxima a loud screeching yell or wailing noises. I assume in the context of the song it's a juxtaposition to the silence. Think of a lover that has been holding back their anger and desperation finally exploding in emotion.

a shrill, dischordant sound...like a cat in heat.

as of right now my favorite song on the new cd. rocky
Definetly, this is the best song in "Worlds Apart".
i think this song is a response to the events of 9/11 hense the "fall like september" verse or maybe they just use it for expression
oh for the love of fuck! not every song is about 9/11.
september's the beginning of the fall season...
o what a badass song
