Syndir Guðs (Opinberun Frelsarans) (English) Lyrics

Syndir Guðs (Opinberun Frelsarans) { Sins of God (revelation of the saviour) }

Created in the image of mankind
In the form of a man and a woman
Double was his sin said his son
For all of eternity a never-ending war
My soul leaves no one sees don't deject but soothe
My philosophy, always correct?
It is better to accept than to give
said the rich one and all his class
I who taught here so many things
but no one listened - that troubled me
but I learnt that life here was hard
after all, it was I who hung on the cross
An honest loner, that was I, that I swear
but the broad road was easier to pass
that road I walk and the cross I bear

does this song is "pro-God/jesus" or anti-God/jesus?lol is just that english is not my first languaje so i cant really understand some of the things :s

I think it's neither. It's just the point of view of Christ, an idea of how he could be feeling or what he could've been thinking when he hung on the cross. You could view it from a religious point, think about how Jesus actually might have been human. You can also view it as an Atheist who sees the bible like a storybook, and think of this as an extra chapter. That's what I do. ;)

Definitely pro-God/Jesus. It's basically talking about what he did for us. Personally, I'm an Atheist, so I'll leave it up to the religious ones lol.

Amazing song.

This song is called \"Sins of God.\" Christians, an others think that God is perfect. So we have a play on a popular view. The song is also called \"revelation of the savior,\" which accepts that there actually is a savior (he reveals \"God\'s sins).\" The band sings about an imperfect god and a new revelation of Jesus. This registers to me as fairly religious, not zealous, nothing surprising in world history. Nothing can be proved about god existing, so I am glad that Sigur Ros rarely addresses the subject.

Now this is why we all listen to music. This takes us to places we cannot go without music. So haunting. So glorious.
