Only One (MFKR Version)

Right, ill be the first one to comment on this. As know it was written by Anders and he was into fantasy RPG's. Anyway his viewpoints are from someone called Garou (some RPG) who plays the part of peacekeeper most of the time, only to be laughed at by his peers. Finally, he steps up and shows them that he means business. Hence "Only one of us walks away".

All the songs from Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat slipknot's first album are in reference to Werewolf the Apocalypse (A pen and paper roleplaying game, such as Dungeons and Dragons) this is basically in reference to a get of fenris character, who is trying to get everyone to see things the same as he does in the war against the wyrm (get of fenris are a germanic/norse tribe of garou(werewolves) this can be seen by the line "valhalla's gone, with your soul"

That makes a lot of sense. I always thought it was about getting sick of someone's shit. On a personal note I prefer thsi version to the one with Corey. I guess I jsut love Anders's Voice.

you guys are idiots, rap mixes perfectly with metal... have you NOT heard "Bring the Noise" from Anthrax/Public Enemy? or RATM's first album? Jesus, take your heads out of your asses!

anyway, this song fucking rules and I love the version with Corey's vocals. I don't know, it just sounds better when he raps/screams, better than Anders, his voice is a little too gruff for me.

In The Don't Call Me Brother Line I Thought Anders Was Saying Don't Call Me Jenafer. LOL

rap dosent mix with metal! never has a truer word been spoken! hail!

Anyway.. While I think the S/T version is criminally shooort, this version sorta gets away with it, cus the chorus is a natural end to the song, especially in the way Anders sings it. He sings it like a challenge, and it dosent really have that chorus feeling in it.

I perfer the one where Corey Taylor (also in Stone Sour) Sings and SCREAMS THE Static sound LYRICS!! Anyways I Pefer the drum solo in this one (Not the MFKR Version).

I like corey's voice better, I don't know why... I think it's funny when they go into the little rap thing, rap just doesn't mix with metal
