Doomsday Averted

I think this is just Melora being amazing and creative. This was the first song i ever heard of Rasputina, and i fell in love with Melora's hypnotic sounds and pulses through Doomsday Averted. I will always love this song...^^;

I think it was the artistic side of her music. Instead of having many lyrics to go with, just having the twists and turns of the music. It's quite interesting and one of my favorite songs. I think she tried writing a song with "Doomsday Averted" but didn't get anywhere because of the "rhymes with Tuesday" at the end. XD always good for a laugh.

16 years later I FINALLY got it: the aethereal sounds in the middle are wind rushing (flying) and and what sounds like a jet engine...then the metallic chiming is glass breaking and falling. Lastly, "rhymes with tuesday". It's 9/11

I agree that this is probably just Melora having fun and being creative and creepy, but personally, I interpret this in a very southern gothic (which obv fits very well with the overall vibe from the album) - that by believing that Jesus saves, you can avoid doomsday, hence: doomsday averted.
