this version is a million times better than the original! it brought whole new meaning to the lyrics, and it's cute when they sing all high-pitched and the guy laughs at himself.. lol

Lol. I LOVE THIS. SOOO much better than the original. Muffinhead is right. It brought a new meaning to the song. That's pretty amazing since they didn't even change the lyrics. I love how music can do that...or people can do that to music. :s whatever.
I just saw the Britney Spears version on VH1 today. Dear God... It reminded me just how good Travis' version is.
wow. I never really understood what this meant with britney singing it, but this awesome cover really clarifies the meaning.
the singer was in a relationship with a person who broke up with them, however they are still in love with their ex, and its really hurting them. so they continuosly try to get back with this person, even though they keep getting rejected and hurt: "hit me baby one more time"
they keep hoping eventually the person will come around and see how much they mean to them if they keep coming back, but they keep getting rejected, and it hurts because all they can think of is that one person.
Even though i'm not a fan of Britney you've got to admit that she writes a good song.
...or at least her professional writers do.

i'm kinda pissed at everybody who said "it brought a new meaning".
it didn't.
it's the same song.
just because somebody else sings it doesn't make it any more special.
i'm sure when Travis played this song they didn't really mean for it to be taken seriously.
but maybe he did. the point is that you have to appreciate music no matter who sings it.
you can't hate a song simply based on the person who sings it. it's kinda shallow if you think about it.

It did bring a new meaning fernandoBOT. If you sing something with emotion, rather than just singing it, it has a new meaning. And you can hate a song based on the person who sings it. If you don't like their voice how can you like any of their songs?
dude..when britney sings it (or whatever you call it)..its sounds like boppy shit..but when you got this gut and a guitar it actually gives ppl a chance to hear the song for what it is..and it sounds so much better too..
