Winter’s city-side
Crystal bits of snowflakes all around my head and in the wind
I had no illusions
That I’d ever find a glimpse of summer’s heat-waves in your eyes

You did what you did to me, now it’s history I see
Here’s my comeback on the road again
Things will happen while they can
I will wait here for my man tonight, it’s easy when you’re big in japan

You’re big in japan
You’re big in japan
You’re big in japan
It’s when
You’re big in japan, then I’ll sleep by your side all through the night
Big in japan, it’s easy to be

Neon on my skin
Passing silhouettes of strange illuminated mannequins
Shall I stay here at the zoo
Or shall I go and change my point of view for other ugly scenes
You did what you did to me, now it’s history I see
Things will happen while they can
I will wait here for my man tonight, it’s easy when you’re big in japan

You’re big in japan
You’re big in japan
You’re big in japan
It’s when
You’re big in japan, then I’ll sleep by your side all through the night
Big in japan, it’s easy to be

Too late, too late

You’re big in japan
You’re big in japan
You’re big in japan
It’s when
You’re big in japan, then I’ll sleep by your side all through the night
Big in japan, it’s easy to be

You’re big in japan, then I’ll sleep by your side all through the night
Big in japan, it’s easy to be

You’re big in japan
You’re big in japan
You’re big in japan
It’s when
You’re big in japan

    Yes? lol

Imagine my surprise when I heard "I will wait here for my man tonight" when I still thought the singer was a guy. : D

it sounds like the lyrics talk about a break up and the girl goes to Japan in cold winter to forget about the relationship "I had no illusions That I’d ever find a glimpse of summer’s heat-waves in your eyes" so to forget about the whole thing she has a crazy night on the town drinking partying clubbing..and whatnot..

In addition to the most obvious (that she's on a trip to forget a bad relationship), I think there's also kinda a sarcastic subtext because many American rock bands are big in Japan after their popularity in the 'states wanes.

Lol... I love this song to no end, but I always laugh at the "Big in Japan, it's easy to be" part... Cuz Asians... and their small... "persons"... ... And has anyone ever wondered why the name of this band is Bat Shit Monkeys? But no, I'm just kidding, I love these guys, the lead singer is way hot, and the drummer knows what he is doin'

    My Interpretation

I just heard this song again and figured it was about the size of the guys manhood.

"It's when, You're big in Japan, then Ill sleep by your side all through the night"

Based off a stereotype that is Asians have smaller parts, and being big in japan leaves him at average.

Since its kinda about a breakup I'd imagine, it doesn't seem too far off.

I love the version from Ane Brun. It's so dreamy and it really suits her!

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
