Little House of Savages Lyrics
Somebody's waiting for me at home
I should've known
I should've known
Somebody's got a car outside
Let's take a ride
Let's take a ride
Somebody's waiting for me at home
I should have known
I should have known
Here we go
Somebody's got a car outside
Let's take a ride
'Cause somebody's waiting for me at home
I should've told
I should've told
But don't come around when she gets home
Oh baby, don't go out alone
And it's open tonight
Come on in, I got you tonight
I should have chose
I should have chose
But don't come around when she gets home

actually, the lyric should read - "i know that it's late but i don't wanna go", opposed to "And noone is waiting for the girl, wanna go". It makes alot more sense to the meaning of the song. It's about a guy cheating and he doesn't wanna leave cause he knows he'll have to face his girlfriend.

I think the lyrics refer to the subject's underappreciation of their ex-girlfriend and are an expression of regret for not investing enough time into a relationship and, arguably, for being unfaithful in it as well.

i LOVE this song. im suprised the Walkmen havnt hit it big yet, they are real talented and the Singer even Sounds a little bit like a scratchy Bono. I feel like this song might be about the girl hes cheating on his girlfriend with ?

this song is really great. i first heard it on the o.c. mix 2 and i immediately loved it! i think it is about someone he's cheating on b/c it says "don't come around when she gets home" i'm thinkin...

I agree with the comment about him sounding like Bono, but at times he also sounds like Bob Dylan.

Top Notch Song. Yes, it seems to be about having one on the side. Favourite part - that drumming, fast, fast, fast!

About cheating on a girlfriend because there's nothing there.

I think the lyrics refer to the subject's underappreciation of their ex-girlfriend, and is an expression of regret for not investing enough time into the relationship and, arguably, for being unfaithful as well.

He regrets moving in with his girlfriend, and he feels he should have chosen the girl he is seeing when he goes out.

This is a song in which he is justifying his infidelity. He has come to regret moving in with his girlfriend --wife?-- and he feels that instead of choosing her, he should have chosen the girl he has resorted to seeing when he goes out. Or maybe he feels like he coasted into it on the strength of her feelings, and didn't make his own choice about it when he could have. But it's too late now, he is committed. And he is terrified of seeing her when he gets home.
