Actually, the posted lyrics are wrong, it's suposed to be "des yeux qui font baisser les miens" so it's "baisser", not "baiser". It meens "eyes that make me lower mine", or rather "eyes that make me lower my gaze"

Awesome song... It's about a woman who describes the man she loves and who loves her. Such romantic songs can only be written in french.

    In English...

Hold me close and hold me fast The magic spell you cast This is la vie en rose When you kiss me, Heaven sighs And though I close my eyes I see la vie en rose When you press me to your heart I'm in a world apart A world where roses bloom And when you speak Angels sing from above Every day words Seem to turn into love songs Give your heart and soul to me And life will always be La vie en rose I thought that love was just a word They sang about in songs I heard It took your kisses to reveal That I was wrong, and love is real Hold me close and hold me fast The magic spell you cast This is la vie en rose When you kiss me, Heaven sighs And though I close my eyes I see la vie en rose When you press me to your heart I'm in a world apart A world where roses bloom And when you speak Angels sing from above Every day words Seem to turn into love songs Give your heart and soul to me And life will always be La vie en rose

^ Ok, that's the English version, not the translation. I love this song, so dreamy.

    ENGLISH TRANSLATION:

Seeing who kiss mine A laugh is lost on her mouth, Here is the portrait without refinishing From my own man

When he takes me in his arms He speaks to me every down, I see la vie en rose.

He tells me of the words of love, Words everyday And it gives me something.

He joined in my heart A share of happiness Of which I know the cause.

He is for me. Moi for him In life, He said to me, swear to a life.

And as I see So I feel inside me My Beating Heart

Some nights of love no longer an end A great happiness that takes its place Des enuis the sadness, phases Heureux, a happy death.

When he takes me in his arms He speaks to me every down, I see la vie en rose.

He tells me of the words of love, Words everyday And it gives me something.

He joined in my heart A share of happiness Of which I know the cause.

It's up to me. Moi for you In life, He said to me, swear to a life.

And as I see So I feel inside me My Beating Heart

Meandthemajor demonstrated that love songs can also be written in English!(Although I prefer Madame Piaf's version in this case!)

Does anyone know why she isn't "heureuse" a en mourir?

those english lyrics are still wrong. these are infinitely more accurate. here ya go:

Those eyes that makes kisses with mine A laugh that loses itself on his mouth Here is the untouched up picture Of the man who belongs to me

When he takes me in his arms, He talks to me very softly I see La Vie en Rose

He says to me words of love These words everyday And this does something to me

He entered in my heart A part of happiness Of which I know the cause

It’s him for me. Me for him In this life He told me that, he swore it for life

And ever since I noticed that I felt My heart beating

Nights of love to no longer finishing A great happiness takes its place Sorrowful problems, phases, Happy, happy until death

When he takes me in his arms, He talks to me very softly I see La Vie en Rose

He says to me words of love These words everyday And this does something to me

He entered in my heart A part of happiness Of which I know the cause

It’s you for me, me for you In this life He said that to me, swore it for life

And ever since I noticed that I felt My heart beating

    A l'homme auquel j'appartiens ...

    A Rose-Colored Life

Eyes which (make love to) (kiss) mine, A laugh that is lost from his mouth, This is the portrait, without retouching, Of the man to whom I belong.

When he takes me in his arms, He speaks to me so (low) (softly), I see life rose-colored.

He tells me words of love, The words of (every day) (day-to-day), And that just does something to me!

He has come into my heart, One part of happiness, Of which I can understand the cause.

It’s him for me, me for him, throughout life. He said it to me, he has sworn it for life!

And ever since I've realized it, Well, I can feel inside of me my heart, which is beating.

The nights of love are never more to end (A great contentment) (The good times) that take(s) the place of (boredom) (troubles), sorrows, phases... Happy, happy until (the end) (dying)!

When he takes me in his arms, He speaks to me so (low) (softly), I see life rose-colored.

He tells me words of love, The words of (every day) (day-to-day), And that just does something to me!

He has come into my heart, One part of happiness, Of which I can understand the cause.

It’s you for me, me for you, throughout life. He said it to me, he has sworn it for life!

And ever since I've realized it, You see, I can feel inside of me my heart, which is beating.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
