Seems like years as the temple rings,
Chokes gas with the awful news it brings.
How comes she's been avoiding,
She knows hes reached the end.

Hooked up to the respirator,
Please laugh into my callud lungs.
My hearbeats getting fainter,
And all my time has gone.

It's getting colder,
Deciding to show her that i'm not the one,
To be there beside her, now I'm crossing over
can no one consoleher.

I know she'll remain,
with no way to end this pain.

No one seems to realize, the things that I,
The things that I've done to you.
Why do you paint your love with all your heart,
with all that a heart can give.

Intentions that you'll never know,
The reason why I had to lead astray.
I gave you a last time, a painted remorse.
(Mistakes that were never yours)

The wrong in my life can never relate,
it flashes before my eyes...

(How did he come to this,
His mind is working harder then ever before,
Thousands of thoughts in seconds,
His last thoughts were of her...)

(And how he and he alone had destroyed the once
vibrant spirit he had inherited so deeply.
The last pain he had ever caused is to the only
woman that had ever loved him..)

The bright light is calling me over,
I follow and leave you alone.
Now you're all alone,
And I leave you with nobody by your side,
Not to hurt you ever again,
Never break your spirit's torment.

Now I'm all alone,
Still I cherish the things that you gave into me

The bright light is calling me over, I follow and leave you alone.

One of my favorite songs on the album. ATFEH did a kickass job on the whole album. I'm surprised nobody has commented on this yet.

The meaning of this song in my opinion is that "he" is going to leave the girl he is presently with. He is trying to make the decision to do it or not. In the same sense, he feels guilty that there is no one around to be beside her. Either he pitys the girl or just wishes things were different for them.
Or maybe the fact that he is leaving her is because he sees that he is causing the girl too much pain and if he leaves her, he will solve her problem.

I think the meaning of the song is that the wife or girlfriend had a fight with the husband or bf and shot him with a "silver bullet" then after, she totally regrets doing it and does she best to save his life....and fails. And as you see the guy was also thinking about how much pain the woman bought him since he loved her but now it's too late since he is "crossing over" and leaving her all by herself.

that what i think, anyways the song rocks for me.

Our scene begins as a telephone rings, She chokes a gasp at the awful news it brings, A phone call she's been avoiding, She knows he's reached the end.

Hooked up to the resporator, It breathes life into my calloused lungs, My heart beats getting fainter, I know my time has come.

It's getting colder been trying to show her, That I'm not the one to be there beside her now, I'm crossing over can no one console her? Alone she'll remain, With no way to end this pain.

Now I realize the things that I, The things that I have done to her, Why you gave your love with all your heart, With all that a heart can give.

Intentions that you'll never know, The reason why I had to lead astray, I gave you a lifetime of pain and remorse, Mistakes that were never yours, The wrong in my life can never be right, It flashes before my eyes.

How did it come to this? His mind is working harder than before, A thousand thoughts in seconds, His last thoughts of her, Of how he and he alone, Had destroyed the once vibrant spririt, That he had coveted so deeply, The last pain he ever causes the only woman, Who ever loved him.

Bright light is calling me upward, I follow and leave you below, Now you're all alone And I leave you with nobody by your side, Not to hurt you ever again, Never break your spirit for me, Now I'm all alone, Still I cherish the things that you've given to me, The bright light is calling me upward, I follow and leave you below.

I love this band. This song is so strong. I got the shivers the first time I heard it. It's about a man who's dying and he finally realizes all the pain he caused to the only woman who ever loved him.

after reading the correct version of the song, the first thing that came to mind, is that a woman's husband has been dying, and the phone call shes been avoiding is the one to tell her he is dead. and after he died, hes realizing all the pain hes caused to his loved one. and hes leaving her now, never to hurt her again. this song almost brings a tear to my eye

    cal·lous (kls) adj.

    1. Having calluses; toughened: callous skin on the elbow.
    2. Emotionally hardened; unfeeling: a callous indifference to the suffering of others.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
