Enlightened By The Cold Lyrics

When you never know
Is when it's always there,
It seemed so clear...

The slightest touch
To catch the breath,
It turns it all around

Single path that I can see,
Emptiness devours me

Enlightened by the cold.
It overcomes the torment.
(What if I could bring you back?)
Enlightened by the cold

Enough to burn through walls
Built on anguish
Can I be revived?

Let it hit with force
Strong enough to blind.
The numbness heals.

My worth is only defined
by the nest disaster

This song kicks ass. It probably about a dead loved one. For example: supposibly you feel cold when a ghost is near. So when you tell yourself that the person will be alive in your heart forever it enlightens you. Thus enlightened by the memories of a lost one.

yep, totally agree with you, man...this song kicks so much ass and I love Jon's guitar solo, though it would be better if this song was longer.

To me, this means being enlightened by pain and becoming stronger as a result. "Single path that I can see" - Christianity.

i think it's about losing something. like, a loved one, or something that keeps you going. perhaps something you take for granted, because when you're 'enlightened by the cold', you maybe realise how much you needed something after not thinking about it.
