this song's pretty cool im guessing its about drugs

I dont understand how you get drugs from this? I think he's saying that he feels like something to keep someone occupied or something thats just there and doesn't mean anything, like skin around your scar. He's doing all this stuff for someone but they dont notice, nor do they care. But when he ends it, they are sad and they want him back, and he just moves on cause they treated him like shit

Maybe he's saying that he was the person that was there for the other person, helpfull, and acomodating, not that the person didn't notice it, but maybe they didn't care, so in turn he stoped caring.

I think this song means: there is someone that he loves that is just.. lost. maybe depressed? He would do anything in his power to help them, and is so concerned with them that it ends up hurting himself so he starts to feel the same way, but feels it would be selfish to give up (I will breath fire/and never stop to think about myself/i'll just keep holding on/to everything for everybody else). He is insignifigant to the person that he helps, and he expresses his frustration (I am like a pill to help you heal/I was only trying to make you feel something). Then when he finally gives up, everything comes crashing down for the one he loves, but it is too late.

Hmm. Coming from someone who totally related to this song::

It's more about (I think) someone who does all this stuff for someone who doesn't notice or care, and rather than give up on them, he is treated like shit and then left behind. And he just watches as the person who turned away from him (possibly to someone else) is overtaken by everything and falls apart. It's a very painful thing to have happen to you.

so basically he's saying that he was trying to help somebody, and he went too far. he's angry about it in retrospect, which is where the i will breathe fire part comes in. maybe he feels ashamed of himself for going that far for somebody who wasted all their chances. it sounds like this person had a lot of opportunities with that line "you wasted every chance you ever had", meaning that the person took a lot for granted, and used a lot of people in the process. maybe there's a slight hint of jealousy too somewhere in there.

the part about watching the fall of an empire, as the flags come down a new king is crowned...that could be a metaphor for leaving somebody you care for, and coming back and they are with somebody else. woke up on a beach, i stared at the blue... and i watched the waves come and overtake you... fantasizing about her death? maybe he's talking about a specific place where they used to go, that reminds him of her.

thats kind of what i take from the song anyways, but i could be completely wrong.
