Love Kills Lyrics
walking out of england thinking you were the king-tough-guy of this world
on that bus that goes to mexico a killer often finds a sweet mexican girl
but in mississippi we'll rush you to the rope yeah
down in dixie you were crying for dope
down in alabama they like home-cooked fare yeah
so we're gonna strap you to the frying chair
well i don't know what love is
right now something else is giving me the chills
but if my hand's the colour of blood
then I have to tell you, sure I have to tell you
love kills
do you wanna hear the sirens
all the sirens of the city howling out your name
living like a zombie while
the population's bored they don't care about your fame
well i don't know what love is
right now something else is giving me the chills
but if my hand's the colour of blood
then I can tell you, sure I can tell you
love kills
It was On the Rio Grande
we tied you to a tree
and you can't call your lawyers cause the whorehouse is asleep
you little motherfucker, don't you fuck with me
(we'll throw you in a cell where you'll die in your sleep?)
now i don't know what love is
right now something else is giving me the chills
but if my hand's the colour of blood
then I can tell you, sure I can tell you
love kills
on that bus that goes to mexico a killer often finds a sweet mexican girl
but in mississippi we'll rush you to the rope yeah
down in dixie you were crying for dope
so we're gonna strap you to the frying chair
right now something else is giving me the chills
but if my hand's the colour of blood
then I have to tell you, sure I have to tell you
all the sirens of the city howling out your name
living like a zombie while
the population's bored they don't care about your fame
right now something else is giving me the chills
but if my hand's the colour of blood
then I can tell you, sure I can tell you
we tied you to a tree
and you can't call your lawyers cause the whorehouse is asleep

The first time I saw Sid&Nancy back in 1987, I was struck by the rawness of this song at the end. The tune stuck in my head for weeks, until I found a copy of the soundtrack, and now it lives in my head. Joe Strummer can really belt out a tune, can't he.
Correct lyrics:
Walking out of England thinking you were the key to my heart's world On that bus that goes to Mexico we kill our own fires That Sweet Mexican girl But in Mississippi we'll rush you to the road Down in Dixie you were crying for dope Down in Alabama we like home cooked fare So we're going to strap you to a Frying chair
Now, I don't know what love is But there's something else giving me the chills But if my hands are the color of blood Then I can tell ya', sure I can tell ya'
Love kills x4
Do you want to hear the sirens, all the sirens in the city coming after me River like a silent God A population bored They don't care about you, friend
Now, I don't know what love is But there's something else giving me the chills But if my hands are the color of blood Then I can tell ya', sure I can tell ya'
Love kills x4
On the Rio Grande We'll tie you to a tree (Oooh, Oooh) And you can't call your lawyers cause the whorehouse is asleep I'll throw you in a cell where the (incomprehensible)
Now, I don't know what love is But there's something else giving me the chills But if my hands are the color of blood Then I can tell ya', sure I can tell ya'
Love kills x4
Comments: Love this song, goes great with the movie.

Woah, this is so about Sid Vicious, and that was before I saw the first post.
the lyrics are, "I'll throw you in a cell where you can barely breathe."
and if that motherfucker part is right...oh man. I've only heard the version where it cuts it out.

best song ever either way
GREAT song :]
Riker's Island Jail, "the world's largest penal colony," was where Sid Vicious was imprisoned after the death of Nancy Spungen. So it's something close to "Here on Riker's Island while the population's bored." It's a bit hard to understand all the lyrics, but if you listen closely it's definitely Riker's Island. Sid spent 55 days in the jail before being released on bail, and during this time he was reportedly abused verbally, physically and sexually by the inmates there, hence "while the population's bored they don't care about your fame." It obviously didn't make a difference to the other prisoners that Sid was a superstar, he was just another kid they could get stuck into. Good song, but very sad . . .
Is there really an uncensored version of this song where he says "motherfucker"? I can definitely hear the "you evil mother...", so I can see how that line can rhyme with the next in an uncensored version. If there is an uncensored version, can anyone tell me where I can find it?
